From 0cde8197e37761d875a03932d8f64bb58b652bac Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Tim Besard Date: Mon, 19 Oct 2026 18:55:42 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] ALCF CI: keep labeling a PR from cancelling its LTS run Labeling a pull request triggers a pull_request_target run, which joined the workflow's concurrency group and cancelled the run waiting for the GitLab pipeline, before its own job was skipped (only fork PRs act on a label). Same-repo PRs that were labeled thus never got an LTS result. Taking the group on the job only lets runs that do something join it. --- .github/workflows/alcf.yml | 9 +++++---- 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+), 4 deletions(-) diff --git a/.github/workflows/alcf.yml b/.github/workflows/alcf.yml index cc55d8ca5..eb7bda653 100644 --- a/.github/workflows/alcf.yml +++ b/.github/workflows/alcf.yml @@ -26,10 +26,6 @@ on: pull_request_target: types: [labeled] -concurrency: - group: alcf-${{ github.event.pull_request.number || github.ref }} - cancel-in-progress: true - permissions: contents: read @@ -39,6 +35,11 @@ jobs: runs-on: ubuntu-latest # PBS queue wait + 1 h walltime + build stage; generous but below the 6 h runner cap timeout-minutes: 330 + # On the job rather than the workflow, so that runs whose job is skipped (e.g. a same-repo + # PR being labeled) don't cancel the one actually waiting for the pipeline. + concurrency: + group: alcf-${{ github.event.pull_request.number || github.ref }} + cancel-in-progress: true if: >- github.event_name == 'push' || (github.event_name == 'pull_request' &&
