Improve App Icon Design

I really enjoy using the app (this isn’t an issue, just feedback)
I had been looking for something like this for a long time to preview VLC videos without having to open them
The only thing I’m not fully convinced about is the current app icon

Are there any plans to improve or redesign it?

I'm not very happy with it either. Ideally I would like to combine the QuickLook eye

with the idea of video, and more in accordance with Apple's updated guidelines than the current icon, but I'm not great at graphic design.

Hey, what do you think about these ideas?

Personally, I like the first one, but I feel that at 16x16px it wouldn’t look as good it’s pretty complicated. Although I think the place where it’s usually most visible is in the bottom screenshot.
I still need to make them into SVG, but if you like any of them and they’re useful for a webpage or something

I also like the first one. My idea of using the QuickLook eye doesn't work so well in practice.

I'm not too concerned about the small 16x16 icons in Activity Monitor, Force Quit, Folder list view, etc. I agree that the most important places are in the app itself (64x64), in the settings dialog (32x32) and in the dock (varies but usually > 64).

Can you make this into SVGs for Icon Composer? Also, for continuity with the current icon I'd like to use a darker blue e.g. #0F60D0 as the base colour.

Here’s the app icon. Inside the ZIP you’ll find the .icon file, which you can open with IconComposer.

also the SVG so you can download it and use it for anything you need: promotional landing page, App Store screenshots, or whatever you prefer

With the svg and the icon file you can change the colors however you want u can invert it by switching the lines to white or black and adjusting the background to your primary color, or any other style you prefer
