4. The installer immediately crashes

Expected vs actual

Expected: The Options page should load, showing the install path selector and estimated install size.
Actual: The installer crashes with an unhandled NullReferenceException as soon as the Options page tries to load.

Thanks for the clean stack trace, it pointed straight at the problem. The Options page wires its text and checkbox handlers in XAML, and WPF raises those events while the page is still being constructed, so the disk space estimate ran before the controls it reads even existed. That's why setup died the instant you clicked Next. The handlers now wait until the page has finished building (the Complete page had the same latent pattern and got the same fix), and a regression test keeps any future page from reintroducing it. The fix lands in the next installer release; the published v1.55.0 build is still affected, so if you need to install before then use Install.bat from a source checkout.
