From f88256d5aa66cbb0f62a7359f67685268cd4027a Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Alan Agius <17563226+alan-agius4@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Thu, 29 Oct 2026 09:38:39 +0000 Subject: [PATCH 1/3] test: use TEST_TMPDIR as fallback for E2E temporary directory Use Bazel's TEST_TMPDIR when E2E_TEMP is not set so that E2E projects and package caches are created on the main disk inside the Bazel test sandbox rather than /tmp (which is a quota-limited tmpfs on ubuntu-26.04). This also allows reverting E2E CI jobs back to ubuntu-latest. --- .github/workflows/ci.yml | 15 +++------------ .github/workflows/pr.yml | 15 +++------------ tests/e2e/utils/utils.ts | 6 +++++- tests/e2e_runner.ts | 2 +- 4 files changed, 12 insertions(+), 26 deletions(-) diff --git a/.github/workflows/ci.yml b/.github/workflows/ci.yml index a5ecf468b34f..e83746756c43 100644 --- a/.github/workflows/ci.yml +++ b/.github/workflows/ci.yml @@ -81,10 +81,7 @@ jobs: node: [22, 24, 26] subset: [esbuild, webpack] shard: [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5] - # Pin to ubuntu-24.04 because on ubuntu-26.04 /tmp is mounted as a tmpfs with a 7.8GB quota, - # causing disk quota exceeded (EDQUOT) errors during E2E package extraction. - # See: https://github.com/actions/runner-images/issues/14777 - runs-on: ubuntu-24.04 + runs-on: ubuntu-latest steps: - name: Initialize environment uses: angular/dev-infra/github-actions/npm/checkout-and-setup-node@c0b8d59ecb851e0dd1808f3d00846d5f2c0c8d47 # main @@ -164,10 +161,7 @@ jobs: node: [22] subset: [yarn, pnpm, bun] shard: [0, 1, 2] - # Pin to ubuntu-24.04 because on ubuntu-26.04 /tmp is mounted as a tmpfs with a 7.8GB quota, - # causing disk quota exceeded (EDQUOT) errors during E2E package extraction. - # See: https://github.com/actions/runner-images/issues/14777 - runs-on: ubuntu-24.04 + runs-on: ubuntu-latest steps: - name: Initialize environment uses: angular/dev-infra/github-actions/npm/checkout-and-setup-node@c0b8d59ecb851e0dd1808f3d00846d5f2c0c8d47 # main @@ -191,10 +185,7 @@ jobs: node: [22] subset: [esbuild, webpack] shard: [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5] - # Pin to ubuntu-24.04 because on ubuntu-26.04 /tmp is mounted as a tmpfs with a 7.8GB quota, - # causing disk quota exceeded (EDQUOT) errors during E2E package extraction. - # See: https://github.com/actions/runner-images/issues/14777 - runs-on: ubuntu-24.04 + runs-on: ubuntu-latest steps: - name: Initialize environment uses: angular/dev-infra/github-actions/npm/checkout-and-setup-node@c0b8d59ecb851e0dd1808f3d00846d5f2c0c8d47 # main diff --git a/.github/workflows/pr.yml b/.github/workflows/pr.yml index 4f821bbb2481..3bae1c6af018 100644 --- a/.github/workflows/pr.yml +++ b/.github/workflows/pr.yml @@ -111,10 +111,7 @@ jobs: node: [22] subset: [esbuild, webpack] shard: [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5] - # Pin to ubuntu-24.04 because on ubuntu-26.04 /tmp is mounted as a tmpfs with a 7.8GB quota, - # causing disk quota exceeded (EDQUOT) errors during E2E package extraction. - # See: https://github.com/actions/runner-images/issues/14777 - runs-on: ubuntu-24.04 + runs-on: ubuntu-latest steps: - name: Initialize environment uses: angular/dev-infra/github-actions/npm/checkout-and-setup-node@c0b8d59ecb851e0dd1808f3d00846d5f2c0c8d47 # main @@ -183,10 +180,7 @@ jobs: node: [22] subset: [yarn, pnpm, bun] shard: [0, 1, 2] - # Pin to ubuntu-24.04 because on ubuntu-26.04 /tmp is mounted as a tmpfs with a 7.8GB quota, - # causing disk quota exceeded (EDQUOT) errors during E2E package extraction. - # See: https://github.com/actions/runner-images/issues/14777 - runs-on: ubuntu-24.04 + runs-on: ubuntu-latest steps: - name: Initialize environment uses: angular/dev-infra/github-actions/npm/checkout-and-setup-node@c0b8d59ecb851e0dd1808f3d00846d5f2c0c8d47 # main @@ -208,10 +202,7 @@ jobs: node: [22] subset: [esbuild, webpack] shard: [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5] - # Pin to ubuntu-24.04 because on ubuntu-26.04 /tmp is mounted as a tmpfs with a 7.8GB quota, - # causing disk quota exceeded (EDQUOT) errors during E2E package extraction. - # See: https://github.com/actions/runner-images/issues/14777 - runs-on: ubuntu-24.04 + runs-on: ubuntu-latest steps: - name: Initialize environment uses: angular/dev-infra/github-actions/npm/checkout-and-setup-node@c0b8d59ecb851e0dd1808f3d00846d5f2c0c8d47 # main diff --git a/tests/e2e/utils/utils.ts b/tests/e2e/utils/utils.ts index 54cfa2d70fa8..40d9962bfcb1 100644 --- a/tests/e2e/utils/utils.ts +++ b/tests/e2e/utils/utils.ts @@ -19,7 +19,11 @@ export function expectToFail(fn: () => Promise, errorMessage?: string): Pro } export async function mktempd(prefix: string, tempRoot?: string): Promise { - return realpath(await mkdtemp(path.join(tempRoot ??
