I talked about [recursive just intonation](https://hilll.dev/blog/recursive-just-intonation/) in the past, but I recently discovered that that's just a specific instance of a more general type of adaptive tuningsystem i've discovered which I now call "Recursive Tuning Systems" or "Recursive Tuning" and it can be applied to any two, matching or non-matching tuning systems, not just the specific case of just intonation and 12-TET. I also have a new tool called [tuningplayground](https://hilll.dev/tools/tuningplayground/) which allows you to experiment with recursive tuning in real time, and it has a lot of features that make it easy to explore different tunings and their interactions. In this post, I'll explain what recursive tuning is, how it works, and why you should care about it.

in this post you'll be able to make a matrix of any two tuningsystems that are supported by my music21-rs library and see how they interact with each other and how they sound.
