From 9b8940127e1f11ba15b4a086a661fa5ce4096c7f Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: rhinonix <1107968+rhinonix@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Fri, 16 Oct 2026 20:54:46 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] docs: record the AB//LABS additional permission equasis-cli is PolyForm-Noncommercial 1.0.0, and LICENSING.md names "building a paid product or service" as requiring a separate commercial license. MARA is exactly that, and it is now going to incorporate parser code from here. The licensor is the copyright holder and a principal of AB//LABS, so the right already exists -- but it existed only by implication. A reader of this repo could not tell, and neither could anyone reviewing MARA's provenance: "we copied from a PolyForm-NC repo" with no recorded grant is a real finding in a diligence pass, and the fact that both sides share an owner is not visible from either side. So it is written down, using the same "additional permission" pattern this file already uses for journalism and nonprofit research. Scoped deliberately: it runs to AB//LABS only, covers using the code INSIDE AB//LABS products, and does not permit reselling equasis-cli or a modified version of it as a product in its own right. Nothing changes for any other user. --- LICENSING.md | 17 +++++++++++++++++ 1 file changed, 17 insertions(+) diff --git a/LICENSING.md b/LICENSING.md index c65417a..31d72e0 100644 --- a/LICENSING.md +++ b/LICENSING.md @@ -27,6 +27,23 @@ This additional permission does not allow you to sell, sublicense, or offer equasis-cli, modified versions of it, or its output as a commercial product or service. +## Additional permission: AB//LABS and MARA + +The licensor grants AB//LABS (a DBA of Austmarr Byrdingr OU) permission to use, +modify, and incorporate equasis-cli source code into MARA and other AB//LABS +products and services, including commercial ones, without a separate commercial +license.
