Thanks for making this, it's very cool. I know it's now a decade old so likely no one cares at this point. But if interested, I've started porting the main Forth interpreter to modern TypeScript here: https://github.com/city41/ereader-erf/tree/main/src/easyforth

It's just the interpreter itself, none of the web UI related things. My goal is to make this into a command line app, not a website.

Nice, thanks! The main bug I'm battling with is do loops only work inside of a word (ie function).

So this works

: loop-test  10 0 do i . loop ;
loop-test

But this does not

10 0 do i . loop

The error is "action is not a function".

I'd say this isn't a bug, but an optional feature that wasn't implemented intentionally. Implementing this feature in such a limited Forth engine is difficult.

good to know. I figured it was a bug as other forth interpreters like pforth allow it. But yeah that makes sense some might skip it.
