Plan: docs/plans/d-bagop-xverweis-polyfill-v1.md
An XVERWEIS-like operation pointer is a DT64 MethodRef / AlgebraRef behavioral reference. It is not an Excel value, not a stored result, and not the coordinate produced by its execution. A lawful operation may return a snapshot/layout/scope-qualified ordinal coordinate for chained property access, with values materialized only on demand. Excel-specific first/last, not-found and spill semantics are consumer adapters. DR routes, DT validates structure/method/guard, Quack lowers admitted execution; no unadmitted Gather or derived mask reuse.
Invariant and boundaries
Draft plan only. No production implementation, owner admission, merge, runtime test or deploy is asserted.
Status: document-only architectural correction, reviewed against current source contracts on 2026-11-05.
