Summary

The memory list grows from 12 to 37 projects with a documented agent-facing memory or persistent-context interface. Descriptions are editorial summaries of upstream documentation re-read on 2026-09-30. Nothing here was install-tested.

Benchmark percentages, including figures in the MemOS, agentmemory, and MemPalace READMEs, are omitted.

Counts

Section Before After
Memory services and frameworks 7 21
Graph and file-based recall / Graph, file, and local recall 3 8
Agent-integrated memory 2 6
Retrieval adapters 0 1
Unmaintained references 0 1
Total 12 37

The old "Graph and file-based recall" section no longer holds the Qdrant MCP server. That server is now under Retrieval adapters. Related lists go from 3 to 5. The Cognee-maintained list is labeled as such.

Evidence and corrections

  • Qdrant MCP Server is an official MCP adapter over Qdrant vector search. The README calls it a semantic memory layer. It does not document a knowledge graph, a file workspace, or a policy for what becomes a memory.
  • Memobase was last pushed on 2026-01-11, is Apache-2.0, and is not archived. Quiet, not abandoned.
  • Motorhead's README says the project is deprecated and support is no longer maintained. That is why it sits in Unmaintained references. The last push was 2025-07-22.
  • MemPalace's README, re-read on 2026-09-30, says the only official sources are this GitHub repository, the PyPI package mempalace, and mempalaceofficial.com.
  • OpenViking is a context database that also covers retrieval and skills, not only memory.
  • Zep's row points at the hosted service. getzep/zep is examples. Graphiti is the open-source library and has its own row.
  • The Letta repository README now says active source lives in letta-ai/letta-code. The Letta Code row is the current product. The Letta repository row is a pointer, and its archive branch is the retired V1 API server.

Intentionally omitted

Papers and benchmarks (MemoryOS, A-mem, HippoRAG, SimpleMem, LongMemEval, and the DeepSeek Engram paper) are not product rows. Gentleman-Programming/engram is a different project and is included. MemoryBear and Memanto were not added because this pass did not confirm an agent-facing interface. The Qdrant database itself is adjacent infrastructure.

Limitations

Hosted retention, export, and human review are described only when the README or product page documents them. Zep homepage accuracy and latency figures were not re-run.

Checks

bun run build, bun run check, and git diff --check passed on this branch.

Widen coverage from 12 to 37 tools with a documented memory or persistent-context interface. Descriptions separate hosted services, local files, coding-agent plugins, and the Qdrant search adapter, and they leave benchmark figures out.
Add one decision table for hosted APIs, files you can open, and plugins. Memori's quickstart is a hosted key, with a separate bring-your-own-database mode. TeleMem's default constructor follows Mem0 provider settings unless a local config is selected. Motorhead stays because its README says it is deprecated.
