Release 2.0.0
Note
Medium Risk
Major release changes summary icon block selection and editor script loading across WordPress versions; regressions could affect the block editor or existing accordions with legacy icon blocks.
Overview
Release 2.0.0 bumps plugin, package, and block metadata from 1.3.2 to 2.0.0 (including Playground blueprint tag and changelog/readme).
The release centers on accordion summary icons: prefer WordPress
core/iconwhen available (7.0+), while still allowing Blockparty/BeAPI icon blocks on 6.2+. A newblockparty_accordion_allowed_icon_blocksfilter (wired through PHP →window.blockpartyAccordionSettings) lets sites customize which icon blocks summaries accept, with editor logic that picks the right InnerBlocks template per block type. Editor and frontend styles are adjusted forcore/iconbeside labels, and the summary toolbar icon control moves to inline SVG (reducing reliance on@beapi/iconsin the built editor bundle).Compatibility and tooling: registers a
react-jsx-runtimepolyfill so editor assets built with modern@wordpress/scripts(32+) load on WordPress 6.2–6.5; adds PHPUnit, Jest, and Playwright coverage with CI, and relocates release/version scripts undertests/bin.Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit 4a09fd9.
