Components should have self.api_path=None, because line 60 you do:
local_api_path = api_path if api_path else self.api_path

True, but all the components do have an api_path set in the own classes.
Maybe we should raise an exception if self.api_path doesn't exist?

Just for me, Components is the main Class mostly abstract, so I suggest to give it the api_path attribute even it's defined in the sub-classes.
