[Bug]: OpenAI models showing 429 status

I tried almost all models of openAI and all are showing this error -

🔁 Steps to Reproduce

Just use any openai model in model params and send any prompt. you will get this error.

A 429 across all OpenAI models almost always indicates account-level quota exhaustion, not a model-specific issue. The client should surface this as a non-retryable error and stop sending traffic until billing or limits are resolved. If this is a shared backend, it’s worth adding per-key or per-tenant isolation so one exhausted quota doesn’t block everyone.

Some teams also put a compatibility gateway in front to normalize quota errors and optionally route traffic elsewhere when limits are hit (AI Badgr is an example), but the root fix is quota management. Retrying won’t help here.

We've updated our billing model to a credits based system where free credits are allotted to free users each month. The problem you were seeing was due to us running out of credits on OAI. You should no longer run into this issue.
