NEW Cacti Compare for routerconfigs is slow on compares lots of changes

load up a compare with lots of changes and the browser is slow to load the whole thing, sometimes going to "not responding" a few times and having to click wait.

This was my original reason for using the Horde one was it's speed over some others. I haven't had a chance to review the new diff engine and what's involved so maybe @TheWitness has more knowledge on that.

It had lots of false positives though, you could go through a compare it it had things marked as changes that were not, that's what lead us down this path. We were sort of rushed and didnt get the full config side-by-side working either, It only shows changes.

There is another version available too, one that this maintained better. Let me see about that. Horde is kind of static too @netniV. Not supporting php changes and no issue list area.

Can you provide some examples of how bad it is?

comparing 2 different switches takes 30 seconds easy, example chrome will go page unresponsive where you can click "wait" 3 times until the compare completes

comparing the same switch with a few daily changes is very fast

As I move one of my dc customers forward, I think this is going to become a big issue again.

I also find myself often having to go to the device to see the differences anyway. The compare truncates important lines that would tell you where in the config you are. Example: security wpa akm cckm is a setting in an SSID but which one?

I suggest we tag this release for 1.2 x and then start into the 1.3 x where I've been told many times that the library is being maintained by a third party and is in active development and they have corrected many of the deficiencies that were in the original tool. So I suspect what we need to do is to switch that tool once the mandate is a PHP 8.1+.
