… macOS build move to their own workflows on dispatch (the owner's word of 2026-10-27) The owner's word (2026-10-27 20:1xZ, verbatim via the keeper): "sick of seeing all these CI failures... why are none of them passing... they are all so hardcore and slowing us down". RULED fleet-wide: a push to beta or main runs exactly the required set (ten on beta, seven on main), the same as a pull request, nothing more; bench, the differential against a floor, the mutation score, the fuzz hours and any dependents check run on workflow_dispatch and once before a tag, each in its own workflow with its own badge, never on the push run; the README badge points at the required-set workflow on main; a cancelled run is never a red. ci.yml keeps the required set only: the bench job is bench.yml and the differential job is differential.yml, their bodies moved verbatim with the push's `before` and the PR's base replaced by a `base` input (a branch on origin; empty, the commit before HEAD, the fallback the jobs already had); the build matrix is Ubuntu alone on every event, the macOS build is build-macos.yml on dispatch (the tag's Binaries job in release.yml builds the macOS targets as before). tools/test_differential_step.sh reads the step from differential.yml. README carries the four badges and the rule; docs/DIFFERENTIAL.md, docs/BENCHES.md, docs/lanes/README.md rule 11 and RELEASING.md step 4 say where each measurement runs and that a refactor PR's differential is the lane's REPORT and its review's own run. actionlint and the step's self-test pass. CI and docs, under the pace ruling (b), on the owner's word of 2026-10-27 20:1xZ (verbatim via the keeper): "sick of seeing all these CI failures... why are none of them passing... they are all so hardcore and slowing us down". workflow_dispatchand once before a tag, each in its own workflow with its own badge, never on the push run; the README badge points at the required-set workflow on main; a cancelled run is never a red. What moves.
ci.ymlkeeps the ten required jobs only (the header comment carries the rule).bench.ymlanddifferential.ymlhold the two jobs verbatim with abaseinput (a branch on origin; empty is the commit before HEAD, the fallback the jobs already had), onworkflow_dispatchandworkflow_call;build-macos.ymlholds the macOS build on dispatch, the build matrix is Ubuntu alone on every event (the tag's Binaries job in release.yml builds the macOS targets as before).tools/test_differential_step.shreads the step fromdifferential.yml(all 12 cases pass). README: the four badges and the rule in its CI paragraph; docs/DIFFERENTIAL.md, docs/BENCHES.md, docs/lanes/README.md rule 11 (a refactor PR's differential is the lane's REPORT and its review's own run) and RELEASING.md step 4 (the pre-tag dispatches). actionlint clean on every workflow; check-links and check-cites pass. The same change goes to main as its own PR (seven required jobs there, no bench or differential to move).Refs #303, #142, #70, #71.
