Overview

The serverless-components repo holds Rust crates that this extension shares with the Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) serverless agents. Agents that work in this repo do not know this. They can write code here that already exists there, or that other agents can also use. For example, #1418 sends oversized trace payloads alone. It might reuse some code from DataDog/serverless-components#154, which splits oversized trace payloads into smaller chunks.

This PR adds a "Where New Code Goes" section to AGENTS.md. It tells agents to do these steps:

• Check serverless-components before they add a new functionality.
• Put code that other serverless agents can use in serverless-components.
• Tell the engineer to speak with the Serverless Azure and GCP team when the decision is not clear. Do the same for a change to an existing crate there.
