[devex] Pin the Rust toolchain #159

Open

Description

@ALLEN-AYODEJI

Description

CI uses stable, so a new Rust release can suddenly break the build with new clippy lints.

Tasks

  • Add rust-toolchain.toml pinning the current stable version with rustfmt, clippy and the wasm32v1-none target
  • Let Dependabot or a note in CONTRIBUTING explain how to bump it

Relevant files: rust-toolchain.toml, CONTRIBUTING.md

Acceptance criteria

  • cargo fmt, cargo clippy -- -D warnings and cargo test --workspace pass
  • PROGRESS.md entry added, and the PR description includes Closes #<this issue>

See CONTRIBUTING.md before starting, and comment here to be assigned.

    Hi @ALLEN-AYODEJI! I'd like to pick up this issue. I have the complete implementation tested and verified against the guidelines (including the pinned toolchain, PROGRESS.md entry, and passing CI suite). Could you please assign this issue to me so I can reopen PR #191? Thank you!
