integrations(feat): add a Raycast extension for profiles and workspaces - #85
Conversation
Add raycast/, a Raycast extension with three commands that delegate every profile operation to the installed codex-profile CLI: - Open Profile: list, path, app, cli (Terminal) and login (Terminal), with the lowest remaining Codex quota beside each profile. - Open Workspace: workspace list --json, then app or cli in the bound folder. - Codex Usage: usage --json per quota window with Low/Critical tags, reset countdowns, sign-in for not_logged_in profiles and an upgrade path when the installed CLI has no usage command. The extension finds codex-profile under Raycast's minimal PATH (preference, standard locations, then a login shell), passes an augmented PATH, runs commands with argument arrays, validates profile names with the CLI's rule, and never reads auth data or switches profiles by itself. Terminal launches reuse the menu-bar app's AppleScript and Automation-denied explanation. Pure-logic tests run with node --test and type stripping. The npm package does not ship raycast/, and packaging tests now assert that. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

A failed or timed-out `codex-profile path` call now leaves that profile without a home instead of rejecting the whole list; aborts still propagate. The README states @raycast/api's Node.js 22.22.2 minimum. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Find the codex-profile copy inside the Codex Profiles menu bar app (/Applications and ~/Applications) after every PATH location, and point bundled-copy users to a newer app release when usage is missing. - Describe shell use accurately: background calls use argument lists, Terminal launches run in the user's shell via AppleScript quoted form, and discovery may run `command -v codex-profile` in a login shell. - Require an absolute codex-profile Path preference and explain why a relative one is refused. - Give osascript timeouts their own message about the Automation prompt. - Pass CODEX_PROFILE_USAGE_TIMEOUT=10 and scale the usage --json timeout with the profile count (15s + 11s per four profiles). - Show Open Profile as soon as `list` returns; quota fills in later. - Tag exhausted windows "Limit reached", show the CLI's detail for unavailable, error and signed-out readings, and stop offering sign-in for unavailable readings. - Link the extension guide with an absolute URL, make Prettier pass on the extension README, and note that `npm run lint` fails until `author` is a real Raycast username. Summary
A Raycast extension in
raycast/, so people can find codex-profiles somewhere besides the menu bar. Like the menu-bar app, every operation goes through thecodex-profileCLI with argument lists (never a shell). It never reads~/.codex*files, auth data or cookies, and never switches profiles by itself.CODEX_HOME, show in Finder. Shows each profile's lowest remaining quota with a Low/Critical tag.list, path, app, cli, login, usage --jsonworkspace list --json,app <p> <folder>,cliusage --json,loginquoted form of, never into script source. It shows the same message when macOS denies Automation permission.PATH: an optional preference, then~/.local/bin, Homebrew, npm/nvm/Volta/pnpm/Bun locations, then a login-shellcommand -v. The CLI gets a PATH with those directories added.CODEX_ACCESS_TOKEN,CODEX_API_KEYandOPENAI_API_KEYaren't passed through.usage --jsoncomes from the companion CLI PR. With an older CLI, the Usage view explains how to upgrade.raycast/, and the install and metadata tests now check that.Testing
npm ci,npx tsc --noEmit, Prettier andnpm run build(ray build -e dist) pass.npm test: 44/44node --testtests on the pure logic: usage parsing and wording, countdowns, PATH and discovery, the profile-name rule (read frombin/codex-profileand compared against Bash), and Terminal quoting, including the real AppleScript run through sh, zsh and bash.usage --jsonoutput from the CLI PR branch for 8 profiles (ok, not_logged_in, 0%/critical, 30-day windows) and read all of them correctly.make checkpasses on this branch rebased onto currentmain, without installing the Raycast dependencies.npm run lint(ray lint) fails only on the placeholderauthor(see below). With a real username swapped in, every check passed. Before submitting to the Raycast Store (maintainer)
