Summary

Getting started tells readers to build the menu-bar app from source, but
someone who only wants a quick install had to scroll down to Command-line
usage to find Homebrew and npm. This adds a short pointer right after the
build-from-source note, keeping the menu-bar app as the main entry point.

  • Getting started now names brew install Ducksss/tap/codex-profile and
npm install -g codex-profile and links to the CLI quick start.
  • The Install details no longer say the v1.3.0 tag "has not been
published yet". v1.3.0 was published on 2026-10-11; the sentence now says
the standalone and Nix commands are pinned to that release.
  • Adds an ## Unreleased changelog entry.

Testing

  • make check on macOS: syntax, behaviour, packaging, native macOS tests and
    ShellCheck 0.11.0, all passing.
  • The site test validates the new #quick-start and #command-line-usage
    fragment links against README headings.

Scope and compatibility

  • Affected scope: README and changelog only.
  • Compatibility impact: none. No command, runtime, profile or Desktop state
changes. The macOS app remains a source build, and npm and Homebrew remain
    CLI-only.

Checklist

  • I ran make check; if the environment lacks ShellCheck, I ran
make test and documented the missing lint result instead.
  • I did not add code that reads, copies, prints, parses, uploads, compares,
or migrates auth tokens or ChatGPT cookies.
  • Desktop changes preserve the stock app default session and use the
original signed app bundle. (No Desktop changes in this PR.)
  • I did not claim that CLI and Desktop account equality can be inspected or verified.
  • I updated documentation for user-facing behavior changes.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated installation guidance to distinguish building the macOS app from source from installing the CLI through Homebrew or npm, with a quick-start link.
    • Clarified that the standalone and Nix installation commands are pinned to v1.3.0.
    • Updated the changelog to point readers who prefer not to build the macOS app to the CLI installation instructions.

Getting started tells readers to build the menu-bar app from source, but
someone who only wants a quick install had to scroll to Command-line
usage to find Homebrew and npm. Add a short pointer to both commands and
the CLI quick start right after the build-from-source note, keeping the
app first.

Also drop the stale note that the v1.3.0 release tag was unpublished;
v1.3.0 was published on 2026-10-11.

The added npm command cannot fetch its package tarball from outside the private network. The separate Homebrew route limits the impact, but the npm guidance should be fixed or removed before merge.
