Sales Data Analysis Project

This repository contains a comprehensive Power BI analysis of sales data. The goal of this project is to provide key insights into sales performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.

Project Overview

The analysis focuses on several key areas of the sales process, including:

• Sales Performance by Store and Region: Visualizing sales figures across different locations.
• Product Performance: Identifying top-selling and underperforming products.
• Seasonal Trends: Analyzing sales patterns over time to predict future performance.
• Customer Segmentation: Understanding customer behavior to inform marketing strategies.

Data Source

The project uses a mock dataset provided in the Data folder. The primary data source is the Store Data.xlsx file, which contains details on sales transactions, products, and store information.

Project Files

The repository is structured as follows:

• README.md: This file, providing an overview of the project.
• Sales_Data_Analysis_Project.pbip: The Power BI Project folder containing the source files for the report and data model.
• Data/: A folder containing all raw data sources used in the analysis.
• Documentation/: A folder for project-related documents, such as requirements and presentations.

How to View the Report

To open and interact with the full report, you need to have Power BI Desktop installed.

1. Clone this repository to your local machine using the command:

   git clone https://github.com/Fatema-016/Sales_Data_Analysis_Project.git
    

2. Navigate to the Sales_Data_Analysis_Project folder.
3. Open the Sales_Data_Analysis_Project.pbip file in Power BI Desktop.

Key Visualizations

• Sales Dashboard: A high-level overview of total sales, profit, and key metrics.
• Geographic Sales Map: A map showing sales performance by store location.
• Time Series Chart: A visual of sales trends over time, highlighting seasonal peaks.
