This repository contains a comprehensive Power BI analysis of sales data. The goal of this project is to provide key insights into sales performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
The analysis focuses on several key areas of the sales process, including:
- Sales Performance by Store and Region: Visualizing sales figures across different locations.
- Product Performance: Identifying top-selling and underperforming products.
- Seasonal Trends: Analyzing sales patterns over time to predict future performance.
- Customer Segmentation: Understanding customer behavior to inform marketing strategies.
The project uses a mock dataset provided in the Data folder. The primary data source is the Store Data.xlsx file, which contains details on sales transactions, products, and store information.
The repository is structured as follows:

To open and interact with the full report, you need to have Power BI Desktop installed.
- Clone this repository to your local machine using the command:
git clone https://github.com/Fatema-016/Sales_Data_Analysis_Project.git
- Navigate to the
Sales_Data_Analysis_Projectfolder. - Open the
Sales_Data_Analysis_Project.pbipfile in Power BI Desktop.
- Sales Dashboard: A high-level overview of total sales, profit, and key metrics.
- Geographic Sales Map: A map showing sales performance by store location.
- Time Series Chart: A visual of sales trends over time, highlighting seasonal peaks.
- Power BI Desktop: For data modeling, visualization, and report creation.
- Git & GitHub: For version control and collaborative development.
- Excel: As the primary data source format.
