Summary

Follow-up to #161, which merged before these commits landed.

  • Release workflow: the archive step copied CONTRIBUTING.md, CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md, SECURITY.md and SUPPORT.md from the root, where they no longer live (they are in .github/), so the job would fail before creating the release. The archive also left out public/, so it had no UI. Relative links in the release notes now point at the tagged docs.
  • Release notes: an Upgrade section with the mandatory secret rotation, so the GitHub Release carries the steps.
  • Operator guide: lists migration 023 and drops the resolved UI-H0 gap.

The bundled UI rebuild is already on master (3f475dc, same index-BvuQ4Ubk.js as a local bun build of client 207bf48).

Verification

  • actionlint on release.yml: clean.
  • Simulated the release-notes extraction and the link rewrite locally.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Added v3.0.1 upgrade guidance covering backups, supported Node.js versions, database migrations, and required credential rotation.
    • Clarified that project creators receive owner membership, the release archive includes the updated UI, and regenerated webhook secrets are shown once.
  • Chores
    • Updated release archives to include public assets and link release notes to documentation for the tagged version.

The bundle predated the client fix that shows a regenerated webhook
secret, so the page dropped the only copy of the new secret. Rebuilt
with bun from client master 207bf48.

Walkthrough

The release workflow now updates tagged release-note links and includes public/ and selected .github/ documents in the archive. The changelog and security-hotfix guide add 3.0.1 upgrade instructions, migration details, secret-rotation requirements, and updated UI information.

The 3.0.1 release packaging and upgrade docs are mostly sound. Before releasing, tighten tag handling in the release workflow and correct two documentation statements: what migration 023 backfills, and how to retrieve regenerated webhook secrets with the bundled UI.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title "ci(release): fix the release job and add the 3.0.1 upgrade steps" matches the main changes. The release workflow now copies community files from .github/, includes public/ in the archive, and rewrites release-note links. The 3.0.1 upgrade steps are added to the release notes and docs. The title is specific and uses a conventional commit style. It omits the link rewriting and the UI-H0 gap removal, which is acceptable for a title.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description follows the template's main structure: a summary of what changed, the motivation (the release job would fail because the community files moved to .github/, and the archive lacked public/), and verification steps. It has a Follow-up reference to #161 and names the affected areas. Most template sections are absent, including the Description headings, Related Issues, Type of Change, Test Environment, Changes Made by category, Configuration Changes (the migration 023 entry is relevant), Documentation checklist, Breaking Changes, and Deployment Notes. The description does not mark the change type, does not list the migration as a database change in the Configuration Changes section, and does not give a rollback plan. The mandatory secret rotation in the release notes is also not reflected in the Deployment Notes section, which is relevant for operators. The core intent and verification are clear, so the description is mostly complete for a CI and docs PR.

Resolution

Optional improvements: mark the Type of Change (Build configuration change and Documentation update fit). Add a Deployment Notes entry that migration 023 runs and that operators must rotate the listed secrets. Add the Related Issues line with #161 if it applies, and complete the Documentation checkboxes for CHANGELOG.md and the operator guide.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

No eligible functions found in the changed files. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files. (3 skipped: 3 unsupported.)

- Line 94: Validate the release tag in the release-tag extraction step against
the expected version format before writing it to outputs, and pass tag and
version values into shell steps through environment variables rather than
embedding workflow expressions in shell source. Update the RELEASE_NOTES.md sed
command to use those environment variables, preserving the existing link
transformation.

Review comments at @docs/guides/security-hotfix-3.0.1.md:
- Around line 134-135: Update the description of
`023_backfill_creator_memberships` in the guide and matching changelog statement
to clarify that it adds an owner membership only when a creator has no existing
membership row for that project; existing Viewer and Developer memberships
remain unchanged.
- Around line 237-240: Update the bundled-UI secret instruction in section 2.2
so the CLI fallback in section 4.1 applies only when the updated UI is
unavailable; otherwise, direct users to the UI, which displays the regenerated
webhook secret once.

Accept only vX.Y.Z from the dispatch input or the pushed tag, pass the
input through the environment, and quote GITHUB_OUTPUT. Describe
migration 023 precisely: it adds an owner membership only for creators
without one and leaves existing memberships unchanged. The 3.0.1 UI
shows a regenerated webhook secret, so the CLI is only the fallback.
