Cannot remove package

I try to remove django-stream but it's a dependency in a migration which borks ./manage.py migrate. Any ideas how I remove it completely from an app that doesn't need it?

How are you managing your dependencies? I tried adding and removing this as a dependency with composer and it worked without any problems.
