Description
The project will consist of developing a frontend application consuming an already existing external API, with a focus on implementing a complete and automated DevOps workflow.
GitLab will be used as the main development platform and GitLab CI/CD will automate the build, testing, and release processes. Vercel will be used for automated deployment of the application or maybe Gitlab pages.
Docker Compose will be used to define the infrastructure and local development environment. GitLab security policies and potentially Renovate will be used for security and dependency management.
The CI/CD workflow will also include automated release management, including the creation of Git tags and GitLab releases after successful validation.
The use of AI-assisted development tools will be documented, including how they are used and a critical reflection on their benefits and limitations.
Relevance
The project demonstrates several core DevOps practices in an integrated workflow, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, security automation, dependency management, and automated release management.
The different components will be integrated into a single workflow, allowing changes to be automatically tested, validated, released, and deployed. This provides a practical example of how DevOps practices can be applied to a modern frontend application.
