Chrome loads manifest.json from the repository root and the compiled modules from dist/, so rebuild after every change.
| Script | Purpose |
|---|---|
npm run build |
Compile src/ to dist/. |
npm run watch |
Recompile on every change. |
npm run typecheck |
Check types without emitting. |
npm run clean |
Remove dist/. |
The extension is written in TypeScript 7 with all strict compiler checks enabled; CI builds it on Node 26.
Because noEmitOnError is set, a type error fails the build instead of shipping a broken dist/.

Filters apply together—a tab has to satisfy every field you fill in. Duplicate URLs are removed automatically, and the remaining ones keep their tab order. An invalid regular expression or a filter that matches nothing is reported in the popup instead of failing silently.
Use cases:
- Archive research sources from multiple tabs.
- Share product pages or articles with team members.
- Keep a record of your browsing session for later review.
tabs: Read URLs from open tabs.downloads: Generate and save the output file.storage: Persist your filter settings.
Tab Scraper operates entirely within your browser. No URLs or data are sent to any external server. You control what gets saved and shared.
