In #2129, a variable bound is tightened based on the relation $\mathbf{c}^T \mathbf{x} < \hat{z}$ where $\hat{z}$ is the objective of the current incumbent. Therefore, after that change, node deemed infeasible may be (1) truly infeasible or (2) has a objective greater than the current incumbent. Infeasible nodes has an inf lower bound while cutoff has a lower bound set to $\hat{z}$. The main problem is that the final lower bound calculation depends on the lower bound of the nodes and misclassifying the nodes may lead to wrong lower bounds.

In this PR, we treat both results in the same way: the node is classified as FATHOMED and has the lower bound set to $\hat{z}$ since this is the safe option.

Results:

MIPLIB2017, 10min, EOS (H100 + Intel Sapphire Rapids 28C/56T per instance)

📝 Walkthrough

The change removes INFEASIBLE from node status tracking. Deterministic completion paths record certain nodes as FATHOMED, and Graphviz uses the upper bound for DUAL_UNBOUNDED and CUTOFF nodes.

Changes: Deterministic node status

Layer / File(s) Summary
Node status and worker accounting
cpp/src/branch_and_bound/mip_node.hpp, cpp/src/branch_and_bound/deterministic_workers.hpp
node_status_t removes INFEASIBLE and shifts the remaining numeric values. inactive_status no longer includes INFEASIBLE. The worker removes record_infeasible.
Fathomed node completion
cpp/src/branch_and_bound/branch_and_bound.cpp
Deterministic BFS no longer handles INFEASIBLE in its completion switch. DUAL_UNBOUNDED and bounds-strengthening-rejected nodes are recorded as FATHOMED. Graphviz uses the upper bound for DUAL_UNBOUNDED and CUTOFF nodes.
