The publish-npm job failed at npm install -g npm@^11.15.0 with Cannot find module 'promise-retry'. The npm bundled with Node 22.22.2 (10.9.7) breaks when it upgrades itself to 11.x.

Changes

  • .github/workflows/npm-publish.yml: bump the publish job's setup-node from 22.22.2 to 24. Node 24 bundles npm 11, so the upgrade to ^11.15.0 starts from npm 11 instead of 10.9.7.

Open question

  • I haven't confirmed the upgrade step succeeds from Node 24's bundled npm. If it still fails, fall back to npx -y npm@^11.15.0 stage publish and drop the global install.
