Embedded systems developer & robotics enthusiast, with a focus on low-level firmware and hardware/software integration.
A few of the bigger milestones (minus plenty of smaller stuff along the way):
- 🔧 Formerly a HiWi (student assistant) at the Embedded Systems Lab, H-BRS - debugging & testing of an embedded systems library, and designed a simple STM32 development board and adapters
- 🔬 Previously at Fraunhofer IAIS - integrated "Spike Prime / Robot Inventor / Pybricks" over Web BLE, and simplified how robots get registered and connected across the whole system - both shipped in production on Open Roberta Lab.
- 🛠️ Currently at Fraunhofer FKIE - Sole owner of a mobile sensor platform, redesigned from the ground up to replace a prior Raspberry Pi-based system.
- Full-stack ownership: hardware, firmware, case design, GUI tooling, testing & assembly
- at least ~6x better energy efficiency across the full field duty cycle (mainly limited by gps, modem base current draw)
- ~120µA deep sleep (RTC-gated) / ~400µA light sleep (accelerometer-gated) via tickless FreeRTOS + split power domains
- Supports any Quectel mini PCIe modem, plus an extendable/exemplary LoRa/composite scanning mode
- Fully field-reconfigurable over serial (scan mode, sensor configuration,e.g. LTE target Band, wake/sleep schedule - no reflash needed)
- (Not open source, unfortunately, so that's all I can share here 😅)
- 🐍 Proud of my MicroPython C-API port for the Open Robotic Board (ORB-Project) - full native integration of MicroPython into STM32 firmware, exposing motor/sensor control to Python through custom C bindings. Robots running this port were demonstrated live at Gamescom as part of my university's public exhibit.
Most of my day-to-day development happens on GitLab since 2025.
