gk7205v500 ships the split NOR package beside the fixed-slot one since OpenIPC/firmware#2658. Its kernel (OpenIPC/linux#137) and -nor U-Boot (OpenIPC/u-boot#52) scan the layout.

  • nor_split: true on gk7205v500, gk7205v510 and gk7205v530. Where the -split package is published, the wizard gives the split install (firmware.bin.gk7205v500 at 0x50000), as on the gk7205v200 family.
  • gk7205v510 installs the gk7205v500 build on NOR too, as defib does since install: the split NOR layout for the gk7205v500 family defib#163 and as gk7205v530 already did here. It keeps its own -nor/-nand U-Boot.
  • Why now: openipc.gk7205v510-nor-lite.tgz on the release dates from 2026-10-02 and has no defconfig behind it any more. Once this is deployed, that stale asset can be deleted without leaving v510 without a NOR download.
  • nand_board, which only v510 used, has no user now. The field and its code stay.

Tests: the fixture index loses the v510 package and gains the two gk7205v500 -split packages (real sizes and digests). TestNANDBoardIsUsedForNANDOnly becomes TestV510InstallsTheV500Build: NOR and NAND both use the gk7205v500 build, and NOR uses the split image. The golden is regenerated for the three V500 SoCs. go test ./... (uncached) passes.

The firmware was checked in qemu-hisilicon, not on hardware (see OpenIPC/firmware#2658).

gk7205v500 ships the split NOR package beside the fixed-slot one since
OpenIPC/firmware#2658, on a kernel (OpenIPC/linux#137) and a -nor U-Boot
(OpenIPC/u-boot#52) that scan the layout. nor_split on gk7205v500,
gk7205v510 and gk7205v530 lets the wizard give the split install where
the -split package is published, as on the gk7205v200 family.

gk7205v510 installs the gk7205v500 build on NOR too, as defib does since
OpenIPC/defib#163 and as gk7205v530 already did here. Its own
openipc.gk7205v510-nor-lite.tgz dates from 2026-10-02 and has no
defconfig behind it any more. Without the move, deleting that stale
asset from the release would leave v510 with no NOR download. v510 keeps
its own -nor and -nand U-Boot. nand_board, which only v510 used, has no
user now; the field stays.

Tests: the fixture index loses the v510 package and gains the two
gk7205v500 -split packages (sizes and digests from the latest release).
boards.json moves v510 to the gk7205v500 build. The nand_board wizard
test becomes TestV510InstallsTheV500Build: v510's NOR and NAND
installs use the gk7205v500 build, and NOR uses the split
firmware.bin.gk7205v500. The golden is regenerated for the three V500
SoCs. go test ./... (uncached) passes.

Offer split NOR installs for the GK7205V500 family

✨ Enhancement 🧪 Tests 🕐 10-20 Minutes

Grey Divider

AI Description

• Enable split NOR installs for GK7205V500, V510, and V530 where packages are published.
• Move V510’s NOR firmware to the V500 build while retaining its own NOR and NAND bootloaders.
• Update release fixtures and wizard tests to cover V500-family downloads and install instructions.

High-Level Assessment

Use the existing catalogue flag and package-availability selection rather than adding V500-specific wizard logic. Pointing V510’s firmware name at the V500 build also reuses the existing build-resolution path while preserving its SoC-specific bootloader names.

goke.ymlEnable split NOR for the V500 family +4/-2

Enable split NOR for the V500 family

• Marks GK7205V500, V510, and V530 as split-NOR-capable. Moves V510’s NOR firmware reference to the V500 build and removes its now-unneeded NAND build override, while retaining its own bootloader filenames.

catalogue.goClarify the retained NAND build override +3/-2

Clarify the retained NAND build override

• Updates the NANDBoard comment to explain that no current SoC uses the override after V510 moves to the V500 build for both flash types. The field and behavior remain in place.

boards.jsonAlign V510 board fixture with the V500 build +2/-2

Align V510 board fixture with the V500 build

• Changes V510’s board and NOR package in the test fixture to V500 names. Its V510-specific NOR and NAND bootloader names remain unchanged.

service/internal/firmware/testdata/boards.json

release-index.jsonFixture the published V500 split packages +10/-9

Fixture the published V500 split packages

• Replaces the V510 NOR package entry with V500 lite and ultimate split-package entries, including sizes and digests. Removes the obsolete V510 lite fit entry.

documents.jsonRegenerate V500-family wizard expectations +4/-4

Regenerate V500-family wizard expectations

• Updates the golden hashes for V500, V510, and V530 wizard documents and increases the expected combination count from 10,788 to 10,800.

wizard_test.goVerify V510 uses V500 firmware on NOR and NAND +18/-14

Verify V510 uses V500 firmware on NOR and NAND

• Replaces the NAND-only build-override test with checks that V510’s NOR and NAND install instructions use the V500 build. It also checks that NOR instructions reference the split firmware image and that both flash types are represented.
