What needs to happen?

Video 2 — Installation and configuration

Folder docs/video-series/02-installation. About four minutes. Assumes video 1.

• Apache Hop 2.20 and Java 21. Data Hopper EDW is a plugin under plugins/misc/hopper-edw/, installed from the release zip or the Marketplace.
• Open the retail-example project. On a new project the same first step is Tools → Configure EDW setup.
• That dialog creates the FILE catalog connection local-catalog and the shared configurations source-model, data-vault, business-vault, and dimensional.
• A warehouse needs a source connection, a Vault target, and an optional OPS database for metrics. Retail uses CRM, Vault, and OPS. The sample Postgres listens on port 54320.
• The dialog does not create a resource definition group. That is video 6.
• Hop GUI on the laptop is where you model. The same project folder is what a later run uses. Do not demonstrate hop-run.
