Java backend developer with an engineer's mind, an educator's patience, and a persistent need to understand how things work.
I came to software through mechatronics, industrial automation, entrepreneurship, and teaching. Different chapters, same curiosity: take a complex system apart, understand what matters, and make it work better for the people using it.
Today I build backend applications with Java and Spring Boot, explore the whole path from Linux infrastructure to business logic, and automate repetitive work whenever it begins to look suspiciously permanent.
Ex-engineer/educator, now making Java, Docker & Linux cooperate. I automate repetitive work, ask suspiciously many questions & sometimes ship obedient software.
Online Java Sandbox — active prototype
A browser-based platform for compiling and running submitted Java code inside isolated Docker containers. It combines Spring Boot, Spring Security, GitHub OAuth 2.0, PostgreSQL, and a deliberately separated backend architecture.
I also brought together an international group of volunteer contributors through LinkedIn to help the project grow beyond a solo experiment.
-
QuizForger — a Django quiz platform with authentication, authoring, public play, attempt tracking, statistics, explanations, and a low-cost JSON workflow for reusable AI-generated content. Deployed through a Raspberry Pi homelab with Docker, Tailscale, and Cloudflare Tunnels.
-
Link Shortener Service — a Java 21/Spring Boot team project covering JWT authentication, Base62 short codes, link management, redirects, PostgreSQL migrations, Docker Compose, shared Postman Collections, and automated JUnit/Checkstyle quality gates.
-
Multi-Currency Telegram Bot — a Java integration with PrivatBank and Monobank APIs. Its configurable TTL cache reduced external requests by approximately 90% and returned cached responses in under 10 ms.
Backend: Java 21 · Spring Boot · Spring MVC · Spring Security · Spring Data JPA · REST APIs
Data: PostgreSQL · SQL · Hibernate · Flyway · JSON
Testing & delivery: JUnit · Mockito · Checkstyle · Postman · GitHub Actions · Maven · Gradle
Infrastructure: Docker · Docker Compose · Linux · Raspberry Pi · Tailscale · Cloudflare Tunnels
Also explored: Python · Django · JavaScript · HTML
- I look beyond the isolated ticket and try to understand the full system.
- I prefer practical solutions that reduce complexity, cost, or repetitive work.
- I ask questions early, communicate transparently, and treat feedback as part of engineering.
- I use AI as a focused tool—not a substitute for understanding the architecture or writing the core logic.
- I enjoy translating technical ideas for people who do not speak in stack traces.
Before focusing on backend development, I designed hands-on STEAM experiences for children, managed educational teams, and built industrial automation systems. Those years taught me that good engineering is not only about making systems function—it is about making them understandable, dependable, and useful.
I'm based in Germany and open to Java backend opportunities, interesting collaborations, and conversations with people who enjoy building useful things.
