Ask people to turn their phone before editing - #421
The phone editor needs the width. Upright, the map is a sliver beside a panel that fills the screen, and people get no hint why. Phones now cover the upright editor with "Turn your phone sideways to edit", a line about rotation lock, and a way back to the library. The editor stays mounted underneath, so turning the phone carries on with the same strategy. Anyone who can only view gets the upright viewer from #418 and never sees this.
The notice sits over a Stack that's always there. Adding that wrapper only for upright phones would rebuild the editor on each turn. On desktop the notice can't appear, because FormFactor is desktop, and the editor fills the same box through StackFit.expand.
A keyboard can't reach the hidden editor. With a keyboard attached to the phone, keys pressed over the notice used to delete everything selected, unseen. The app's shortcuts sit above every screen, so GlobalShortcuts now switches them off while a strategy the reader can edit is under the notice. The covered editor also drops out of focus and screen readers, which keeps the canvas's own Delete handler away. The upright viewer isn't covered, so readers keep their shortcuts.
The rest of this slice needed no code
I checked the keyboard, safe areas and zoom, since that's the brief for this slice:
Zoom. Flutter sets maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no. After a two-finger pinch and a double tap on the library, visualViewport.scale stayed at 1 in emulated mobile Edge.
Safe areas. The viewport has no viewport-fit=cover, so the browser should keep the page clear of the notch itself. web/manifest.json has no orientation lock, so an installed app can turn too.
Keyboard. With a field focused I shrank the viewport to 390x330 to stand in for one. The folder dialog kept its name field and Done on screen.
Short screens. The sign-in dialog scrolls on a sideways phone, and Sign in stays reachable.
How far this got
A browser (Edge) with touch at iPhone 14 size, against the dev deployment. Opened a strategy upright, turned to 750x340, turned back, and left with the notice's button. Console errors were zero.
Keyboard over the notice. Reproduced on the previous head: select all sideways, turn upright, press Delete and everything goes. On this head, Delete, E, Backspace, T, D and Ctrl+Z do nothing, before and after tapping empty parts of the notice. No pixel changed by more than faint anti-aliasing. D still moves to the next page once sideways, and in the upright viewer. Tab then Enter leaves through the button.
Leaving with unsent work. Offline, I moved a text note and pressed Back to My Library. "Cloud sync pending" appeared within about 10 seconds. Stay here returned to the notice. Leave anyway reached the library, showing "1 saved change is being sent". After reconnecting, a fresh session showed the note where I'd moved it.
What isn't covered
The keyboard check is a viewport shrink standing in for a keyboard.
The notch check is reasoning from the viewport tag.
The sideways editor is still the desktop layout until the panel lands.

Walkthrough
The change adds web form-factor classification and touch-specific strategy and library interfaces. Touch devices use a read-only strategy viewer, a portrait-phone editor notice, revised phone library controls, and scrollable breadcrumbs. Touch dragging is disabled. Search fields can initialize from the current query and take autofocus.

Merge Risk: Moderate · previous review 4d6e3
While the "turn your phone" notice is shown, some keyboard input can still reach the hidden editor. A custom shortcut on Tab, Enter or Space, or a tap on an empty area of the notice on web, can change the strategy behind the notice. Fix both paths before merging so the covered editor stays untouched.

Keep the notice focus barrier after empty-area clicks.
GlobalShortcuts states that an empty-page click on web can focus its own node. The notice is inside that shortcut tree. If an empty-area tap focuses the global node, _keepFromEditor no longer receives keys, and the ContextualDeleteIntent binding can reach the covered editor. didChangeDependencies does not restore focus after this focus loss. Restore the notice’s key barrier without overriding focus held by a dialog or the leave button.

Block covered-state dispatch of configurable editor shortcuts.
A user can bind an editable shortcut to Tab, Enter, or Space. While TurnPhoneNotice has focus, _keepFromEditor ignores those keys, so they can reach the ancestor GlobalShortcuts widget and invoke a bound intent. For example, page navigation and side switching have no canEditPages or covered-state guard.
Do not consume these keys in _keepFromEditor. The ignored result is needed for normal focus traversal and the leave button's default ActivateIntent handling. Prevent configurable editor intents from dispatching while the notice is covered instead.
