test(core): add regression coverage for the 7 pre-existing archetypes - #99
Conversation
PR TechImmigrants#97 switched detectArchetype()'s keyword matching from text.includes() to a word-boundary-aware regex (hasKeyword), fixing false positives like "swift" matching "swiftly" but silently changing detection behavior for every archetype already registered. Only mobile-engineer (added in that same PR) had test coverage. Add a describe block per archetype (ai-product-manager, ai-engineer, backend-engineer, frontend-engineer, qa-test-engineer, devops-sre, data-engineer) to packages/core/src/__tests__/archetypes.test.ts, each covering: - structural validation (registration, keyword/action-verb/anti-pattern counts, evaluation weights summing to 1.0) - a realistic positive-detection resume - a realistic negative case using an adjacent, keyword-overlapping archetype's resume, to prove the boundary-aware matching keeps neighboring roles from bleeding into each other qa-test-engineer also gets a direct boundary-collision check ("pact" must not match inside the common word "impact"). Fixes TechImmigrants#98
📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughAdded comprehensive regression coverage for seven core archetypes. Tests validate registry configuration, evaluation weights, representative detection, cross-archetype rejection, and prevention of substring false positives. ChangesArchetype Detection Tests
Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~15 minutes Mergeability Score: 🔵 Low · up to The new test coverage is broadly mergeable, but the Pact/impact boundary test should explicitly verify both the positive Pact match and the isolated negative impact case; otherwise a regression in QA keyword detection could go undetected. Per CodeRabbit review on TechImmigrants#99: the sentence-based assertion only proved the whole sentence didn't classify as qa-test-engineer, which stays green even if "pact" is removed from the archetype's keyword list or a different word in the sentence is what keeps it off qa-test-engineer. Replace it with single-token fixtures that isolate the boundary directly: "Pact" must resolve to qa-test-engineer (the keyword matches as a whole word), and "impact" must not (the word-boundary check correctly rejects the substring match).
What does this PR do?
Adds comprehensive test suites for seven pre-existing archetypes: AI Product Manager, AI Engineer, Backend Engineer, Frontend Engineer, QA / Test Engineer, DevOps / SRE, and Data Engineer. Each archetype test suite validates:
The tests use realistic resume snippets that highlight domain-specific terminology and tools for each role, ensuring the archetype detection logic properly distinguishes between similar technical roles (e.g., AI Product Manager vs. AI Engineer, Backend vs. Frontend, DevOps vs. Data Engineering).
