Fixes CVE-2026-111497 ("Node2Shell"/"HTTP2Shell"), the out-of-bounds write in the Brotli decoder that Node.js bundles (CVSS 4.0 9.2). The fixed Node releases are 22.23.4, 24.22.1 and 26.12.1. Node 20 and older lines are end-of-life and will not get a fix, so they move to 22.23.4. Bun is fixed in 1.4.4.

What changed

  • Bundled installer runtime: packaging/scripts/common.sh and build-windows.ps1 NODE_VERSION 22.11.0 → 22.23.4, so the macOS/Windows installers ship a patched Node (README table too).
  • CI: test matrix [20, 22] → [22.23.4, 24.22.1]; other jobs 20/22 → 22.23.4.

Installers already distributed still contain Node 22.11.0, so they need a new release.

Nothing is deployed by this PR. The images pick up the fix when they are next built and rolled out.
