Issue-only change, from main.

What it records

  • The T14's panel has no PSR (display track, stage 4).
    • DPCD 00070h (PSR_SUPPORT) reads 00, and 00700h reads 01, eDP 1.2. PSR1 is an eDP 1.3 feature.
    • Two boots read this, 823066157 and f714a5161: evidence.
    • No other bench has an Intel panel, so tgl-display: PSR1 on the T14's panel, enabled from the compositor's first present (stage 4) #1136 (PSR1) is closed unlanded, by the orchestrator's decision.
    • Both reads were made with the lid closed. The panel answered AUX with a coherent capability set, so the reading is taken as the panel's. That is labelled an inference, which a read with the lid open would confirm.
  • This caps the T14's display-side idle saving. With the pipe lit, DC5 and DC6 are reached only while PSR is active (Vol 12, "Display C5 and C6"), so they are unreachable on this panel.
  • The restart point if a PSR-capable panel appears: branch display-stage4 (f714a5161) and the clean-room PSR brief.
  • New track, the-internal-panel-stays-lit-with-the-lid-closed.md.
    • ToyOS has no lid handling: acpiserver counts LID0's Notify as served by nothing, so the panel and backlight stay on with the lid closed.
    • The owner is the orchestrator, and it is not built now.
    • The display track's ownership row points to it.
  • New tooling issue, host-ci-blames-its-run-for-another-processs-dead-tmp-root.md. See the check below.

Checks

  • cargo run -- --ci host at 7a2a6e207: exit 1, with 107 of 108 steps green.
    • The red step is "nothing left in $TMPDIR or /tmp", on /tmp/toyos-tmp-16566-0/boot-0.
    • That directory is a QEMU boot's short QMP directory. It was made at 22:06, while this run was in system/fileserver's unit tests. No step of a host run boots QEMU, and this run's scratch is under $TMPDIR.
    • The gate (left_behind, build/ci.rs) flags any dead root that appeared during the run, whoever made it. So it is another process on the shared host, independent of this change, and recorded as the tooling issue above. The directory was left in place, since it is not this run's.
  • The later two commits add markdown only, so no check was rerun for them.

#1136 closed

The T14 boots of 8230661 and f714a51 read the panel's DPCD: 00070h
(PSR_SUPPORT) 00 and 00700h 01, eDP 1.2. PSR1 is an eDP 1.3 feature, and
no other bench has an Intel panel. So PSR1 (#1136) is closed unlanded, by
the orchestrator's decision, as code no bench can verify and nothing calls.

The display track records the reading with its evidence. It also records
the limit that follows: with the pipe lit, DC5 and DC6 are reached only
while PSR is active (Vol 12 "Display C5 and C6"), so they are out of reach
on this panel. And it names the restart point, branch display-stage4 and
the clean-room PSR brief.

…PSR reading was made lid-closed

Both benches run with their lids closed, and ToyOS has no lid handling.
acpiserver counts the T14's LID0 Notify as served by nothing, so the panel
and backlight stay on, at a cost in power and heat. The new track records
the missing piece with its owner, the orchestrator. acpiserver would state
the lid's _LID to a client, the compositor would decide to blank the
output, and the driver would power the panel and backlight down. It is not
built now.

The display track's no-PSR record now says both DPCD reads were made with
the lid closed. The panel answered AUX with a coherent capability set, so
the reading is taken as the panel's. That is labelled an inference, which a
read with the lid open would confirm.

`left_behind` reddens a host run for any dead `toyos_tmpdir` root that
appeared in /tmp during it, whoever made it. On a shared host, another
agent's QEMU boot that died (/tmp/toyos-tmp-16566-0/boot-0) turned an
issue-only host run red, at 1 of 108 steps. Recorded with its exit: count
only the run's own process tree.
