The UP Biomedical Engineering Circle (UP BMEC), founded in 2025, is the official university-wide biomedical engineering organization of the University of the Philippines - Diliman. 🌻
Our student-led research projects are fostered and developed within the organization, ranging from mechanics to instrumentation and even data! An ongoing free and open-source series of bioinformatics modules continuously being developed and published on our official GItHub! Our first published course is on data science and programming using R. The modules are targeted to be beginner-friendly, designed for people who may have little to no knowledge on working with data.
A series of video workshops that teach biomedical engineering skills hosted on our official YouTube channel! You can follow our self-paced workshops within your own schedule and environment. We currently have workshops on Fusion360 and organic modelling.
As a UP BMEC member, you’ll also have the opportunity to initiate and develop student-led personal STEM projects that dive deeper into biomedical engineering subjects, no matter how niche they may seem. Whether you’re interested in developing hard skills such as 3D modelling, electronics, data analysis, or soft skills such as project management and communication, you can find a way to contribute to BMEC’s initiative of open-access and service-oriented research.
With an organization filled with curious and driven members, you could meet like-minded people and work together to start developing your own projects!
