What and why · 改了什么、为什么

The maintainer asked to stop treating the page as a talk demo and make it the project's homepage. It should read as a product introduction, keep the current glass look, and switch between English and Chinese.

Where it lives

  • The page moved from docs/talk/ to docs/site/.
  • docs/talk/index.html is now a redirect, so the old About link keeps working.
  • A new root index.html redirects too, so once Pages is on the site opens at zlhad.github.io/OpenVideoHarness/.
  • Both redirects keep ?lang= and #section.

EN / 中 switch

  • In the top bar.
  • Every text on the page exists in both languages: the style names, the chart dates, the f(t) readout and its pixel check, the captions and the aria labels.
  • The first visit follows the browser's language. The choice is remembered (localStorage), and ?lang=en|zh picks one in a link.
  • Chinese headings rise in character by character, and a phrase never breaks across lines.

Content, for someone new to the project

  • Hero: what it is, one line on what happens, three buttons (start, watch the film, star on GitHub), and a row of facts: written by Claude, MIT, 9 types, 31 styles, 5 engines.
  • Why: starts from the problem: "One great film is easy. Every time is hard." / 做出一支好片不难,每次都好才难。 It adds that the harness is light on purpose: a few hard floors, and defaults a good idea can overrule.
  • Built with Claude and In practice: in the project's voice, not the presenter's.
  • New FAQ: ten questions, one open at a time. The answers follow the README:
    • how it differs from just asking an agent, with the honest A/B result from docs/research/06
    • cost
    • time
    • requirements
    • Codex
    • languages
    • real people
    • current limits
    • the relation to Anthropic
    • contributing
  • Footer: links to the README in both languages, the wiki, the changelog, the contributing guide and the license.

How it was verified · 怎么验证的

Headless Chromium (Playwright), in both languages

  • Desktop (1440×900, 1280×720):
    • every section fits the viewport
    • no horizontal scroll
    • the top-bar items don't overlap
    • no page errors
  • 1024×768 and 390×844:
    • no horizontal scroll
    • no errors
    • sections grow taller there, as before

The language switch

  • Clicking it sets data-lang and lang="zh-CN", ?lang=zh and localStorage. The choice survives a reload.
  • In Chinese, the f(t) check reports 第 66 帧,紧接在第 275 帧之后重渲:61,250 个像素里有 0 个不同。完全一致。
  • Every <span lang="en"> has a lang="zh" twin next to it. The one exception is the "TikTok in China" gloss, which only the English needs.

Visual and redirects

  • Screenshots of all 12 sections in both languages were checked by eye.
  • Fixed from that check:
    • Chinese headings broke inside a word, so phrases now stay whole;
    • the film chapters wrapped to a second row;
    • on phones, the galaxy sat behind the hero text.
  • Both redirects land on docs/site/ with the query and hash kept.

CI: tools/ci.sh --committed passes.

Not checked: video playback, since Playwright's Chromium has no H.264. The <source> order is unchanged from the merged version.

The maintainer asked to drop the demo framing and make the page the
project's homepage, written as a product introduction, keeping its look,
with a switch between English and Chinese.

- Moved docs/talk/ to docs/site/. docs/talk/index.html and a new root
index.html redirect there (query and hash kept), so the old link keeps
working and the site opens at zlhad.github.io/OpenVideoHarness/.
- EN / 中 switch: every text exists in both languages, including the
style names, chart dates and the f(t) readout. It follows the
browser's language on the first visit, remembers the choice, and
?lang=en|zh picks one. Chinese headings rise character by character
and never break inside a phrase.
- Product content: the hero now has three buttons and a row of facts.
"Why" starts from the problem. "Built with Claude" and "In practice"
use the project's voice. A new FAQ answers ten questions from the
README. The footer links the README, wiki, changelog, contributing
  guide and license.
- The presenter tools are gone: notes, timer, key list, arrow-key
  paging. Scroll snapping is proximity.
- Numbers: 75 PRs in the first 11 days, 72 from claude/ branches.

Main gained the docs/site homepage (#76, #77). The only conflict was the
top of CHANGELOG.md's Unreleased section: both entries are kept, this PR's
first as the newest.
