🎨 Palette: Add toast feedback when copying to clipboard on Android 12 and below - #182
Conversation
… and below Added explicit Toast feedback when the user copies text using `ClipboardUtil`, but restricted it to Android 12 (API 32) and below. This improves UX on older devices that lack native clipboard feedback without causing duplicate notifications on newer Android 13+ devices. Safely casted `ClipboardManager` and updated mock static tests to handle the new `Toast` behavior. Added learning to Palette journal. 💡 What: Added a Toast notification to explicitly confirm when text is copied to the clipboard, conditional on the device running Android 12 (API 32) or lower.
🎯 Why: Android 13 introduced a native system UI overlay for clipboard copies. If we show a Toast on Android 13+, the user sees redundant, annoying duplicate feedback. However, users on older OS versions are left guessing if the copy action succeeded. This patch provides a consistent UX across all supported OS versions.
📸 Before/After: No visual change on modern devices, but older devices now receive a localized
Copied to clipboardtoast.♿ Accessibility: Provides clear feedback to users (and screen readers via the Toast announcement) that their action was successful.
