Dashboard

The Dashboard renders Docker and VM folders as cards using the same saved folder maps as their runtime pages. Dashboard settings affect presentation only; they do not create a separate hierarchy.

Layout choices

  • Classic: normal folder-card presentation.
  • Legacy: compatibility-oriented presentation.
  • Full Width: uses wider available widget space.
  • Accordion: emphasizes one expanded section at a time.
  • Inset: visually nests folder content.
  • Compact Matrix: denser multi-card layout.
  • Embossed: alternative card styling.

Choose layouts independently for Docker and VM widgets. Expansion state is remembered across normal refreshes and tab changes where supported.

Fullwidth, Accordion, Inset, and Embossed cards fill their available widget width, including nested cards. Compact Matrix fills each grid slot instead of stretching every card across the widget. Classic and Legacy retain native tile presentation. Judge card width against the Docker/VM widget, not the entire Dashboard page.

Folder-card controls

Dashboard preferences can show an expand toggle, dim collapsed cards, show folder labels, and control previews. Docker can use native or advanced preview context, click or hover trigger, a selected graph, and a configurable graph time window.

The quick-action rail can provide layout cycling, expand/collapse all, running-only filtering, health emphasis, compact density, reset view, and a Settings shortcut. Available controls depend on the widget and current state.

Open the widget's View options and choose Capture layout diagnostics while a clipping, overflow, or missing-card problem is visible. The capture records bounded aggregate geometry and state for the current widget/viewport; it does not store folder names, IDs, URLs, selectors, CSS, or raw DOM.

Nested folders and previews

Top-level cards can expose nested trays and configured child previews. If direct members vanish while children remain, compare the Docker/VM runtime page and the folder editor's Members versus Preview selections.

If an individual folder fails to render, other folders and native controls remain accessible. A warning links to the affected folder's settings. Healthy child folders may appear at the top level while a parent cannot render. Saved hierarchy and expansion preferences are preserved; a successful reload clears the warning.

Privacy

Dashboard cards honor the saved Docker/VM privacy masks. Re-check the page after changing Privacy because already-open advanced previews may need to close and reopen before every derived label is rebuilt.

Performance

Large dashboards benefit from Adaptive or Maximum performance, lazy preview, compact layouts, and a reasonable live-refresh interval. Reducing animation or preview depth is preferable to hiding valid data through custom CSS.

Troubleshooting

  • Clipped cards/names: return browser zoom to 100%, try Classic, and disable custom CSS.
  • Overlap: reset view and compare at desktop and mobile widths.
  • Missing folders: verify the source Docker/VM folder is top-level and not hidden by filters.
  • Repeated refresh: increase live-refresh interval and check browser console for observer errors.
  • Preview graph unavailable: confirm the host exposes required runtime statistics; the Dashboard should fall back without breaking the card.

For a layout defect, reproduce it on the same device/browser, capture layout diagnostics before navigating away, then open Settings Diagnostics and confirm the capture timestamp before exporting a sanitized bundle.
