[BUG] #2235
Description
Bug Report: One-Page Input Overrides Render Empty Modal with Buried Focus Layout
Environment
• Obsidian Version: Current strict Markdown parser release (Autumn 2026 Core Release) 1.14.4
• QuickAdd Version: v2.32.1
• FullCalendarRemastered Version: Current Modern Release 13.6.6
• OS: Desktop, WIN11 26H2 Home.
Describe the Bug
When using a modern Capture Choice configured to capture formatting syntax to the active document ({{LINKCURRENT}}), toggling the One-page input override setting to Always renders an empty/blank popup modal interface displaying only the default system button hooks ("OK", "Cancel", and "Peek at note"). The underlying input block nodes ({{VALUE:Variable}}) fail to paint inside the body layout frame.
Furthermore, the prompt sequence layer can get structurally buried behind or beneath active modal windows, caching hidden operations or data states without bringing the execution view context to the foreground. This results in missing user input cues or dead confirmation warnings (e.g., alert states claiming data is cached but failing to write to the markdown buffer upon confirmation).
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a clean Capture Choice inside QuickAdd settings.
- In the Capture to target block input text, specify a dynamic string hook or point it to the open file context via core file selectors.
- In the Capture format text box frame, write a series of standard double-braced template input text components (e.g., Person: {{VALUE:Name}}, Phone: {{VALUE:Phone}}).
- Set the One-page input override option dropdown state from default to Always.
- Bind the choice macro option to the command palette via the lightning icon.
- Open an active markdown note pane inside your workspace vault.
- Trigger the specific command string via the Ctrl + P / Cmd + P panel interface.
Expected Behavior
The interface should aggregate all template variable tags into a unified, focused, scrollable input block overlay displayed on top of the layout window stack, mapping text fields natively to their respective {{VALUE}} parameters.
Actual Behavior
A blank popup modal container paints over the active text zone containing structural system borders and buttons, but contains no actual input fields. Background processing threads can generate silent, stacked modal warnings that remain obscured beneath active UI elements.
I apologize as my level of expertise isn't enough to produce a professional bug report nor to test this reliably as I find the UI difficult to learn in order not to miss any steps. I will happily help test if someone holds my hand. What I am trying to create is a QuickAdd powered prompting system for Full Calendar Remastered Full Note calendar. It was working fine before the update.

Thanks for the report, and no need to apologize. It had enough detail for us to find a real bug.
What we fixed. Say QuickAdd is asking for input and you click "Peek at note" (or press Ctrl+Shift+E). You then open Full Calendar's "New Event" window and click Return. QuickAdd's input window came back behind the calendar window. You could not see it, but it still received your typing, and pressing Escape cancelled QuickAdd. #2238 fixes this, so the input window now comes back on top. #2239 also hides Peek while another plugin's window is already open, so the input window cannot get hidden that way.
What we could not reproduce. We never got a blank QuickAdd window with only buttons. We tried your capture (
Person: {{VALUE:Name}}, Phone: {{VALUE:Phone}}) with "One-page input" set to Always, with Full Calendar Remastered installed, on Obsidian 1.14.4. Each time, the window showed the Name and Phone boxes. The blank window may have been the hidden window above, with its edges showing around the calendar window. We are not sure of that.Good to know. While another plugin's window is open, such as Full Calendar's "New Event" window, Obsidian ignores keyboard shortcuts and the command palette. So you cannot start QuickAdd from inside that window.
If you still see a blank window after the next QuickAdd update, please send:
