HTML attributes passed to <Markdown> / <MarkdownDocument> in React and Svelte (data-*, aria-*, id, role, style, ...) were silently dropped. They now land on the root comark-content element, matching Vue and Angular.

Useful for test selectors, analytics hooks, and accessibility on streaming answers (aria-busy, aria-live).

Adds tests for all renderers (Vue and Angular already behaved correctly) and updates the React/Svelte docs.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Markdown renderers now accept standard HTML attributes—including id, role, style, data-*, and aria-*—and apply them to the root wrapper. Custom classes continue to be supported.
  • Documentation
    • React and Svelte guides now explain that additional HTML attributes are applied to the wrapper element.

2 findings · reviewed dbfe65b

🟠 useMemo omits unwrap from its dependencies · components/MarkdownClient.tsx:61

Correctness · components/MarkdownClient.tsx:61 · in React Renderer

MarkdownClient’s useMemo(..., [content]) reads unwrap in the parser call; when a caller changes unwrap without changing markdown, it keeps rendering the old wrapper behavior.

Fix: Add unwrap to MarkdownClient’s useMemo dependency list so changing the prop reparses unchanged content.

🟠 ...rest forwards dangerouslySetInnerHTML beside rendered children · components/MarkdownDocument.tsx:383

Correctness · components/MarkdownDocument.tsx:383 · in React Renderer

MarkdownDocument spreads rest onto a div that also renders {renderedNodes}, so a typed dangerouslySetInnerHTML prop makes React throw for supplying both children and inner HTML.

Fix: Omit dangerouslySetInnerHTML from both React prop interfaces before forwarding rest.

1. [medium, correctness] packages/comark-react/src/components/MarkdownClient.tsx line 61
Problem: `useMemo` omits `unwrap` from its dependencies. `MarkdownClient`'s `useMemo(..., [content])` reads `unwrap` in the parser call; when a caller changes `unwrap` without changing markdown, it keeps rendering the old wrapper behavior.
Fix: Add `unwrap` to `MarkdownClient`'s `useMemo` dependency list so changing the prop reparses unchanged content.
2. [medium, correctness] packages/comark-react/src/components/MarkdownDocument.tsx line 383
Problem: `...rest` forwards `dangerouslySetInnerHTML` beside rendered children. `MarkdownDocument` spreads `rest` onto a div that also renders `{renderedNodes}`, so a typed `dangerouslySetInnerHTML` prop makes React throw for supplying both children and inner HTML.
Fix: Omit `dangerouslySetInnerHTML` from both React prop interfaces before forwarding `rest`.

Run npx @coldtea/pr-lens-cli analyze --base origin/main on a branch, then npx @coldtea/pr-lens-cli render .pr-lens/graph.json. Same lenses, your own model key, before the pull request exists

🪧 More tips
  • Run npx skills add coldteadotai/pr-lens, then tell your coding agent: "Diagram the change you just made with PR Lens and attach it to the pull request."
  • Click the link under each diagram to open it on a canvas you can zoom, pan and step through
  • The diagrams are links. Click one to open it on the canvas, then press W or click play to walk through the change
  • Open a diagram on the canvas, then press W or click play to walk through the change one step at a time
  • The CLI's render reads .github/pr-lens.yml and applies your renames, exclusions and lane pins at draw time
  • Set github.comment.collapsed: true in .github/pr-lens.yml to fold the comment behind one View architecture and data flow row. Drawing still runs as before
  • Set github.draw: on-demand in .github/pr-lens.yml and PR Lens stops drawing pull requests on its own. Comment @pr-lens draw on a pull request when you want that one drawn
  • Add .github/workflows/pr-lens.yml with coldteadotai/pr-lens/packages/action@v0 and your model provider's key as its api-key to run PR Lens from your own CI. Any /chat/completions endpoint works

📝 Walkthrough

React and Svelte renderer components now accept and forward additional HTML attributes to their wrapper elements. Tests cover root or host attributes across Angular, React, Svelte, and Vue. React and Svelte documentation describes the supported attributes.

Changes: Renderer root attributes

Layer / File(s) Summary
React attribute forwarding
packages/comark-react/src/components/*.tsx, packages/comark-react/test/root-attributes.test.tsx, docs/content/3.rendering/5.react.md
React renderer props now include HTML div attributes, excluding children. The components forward remaining props through parsed and streaming paths to the wrapper. MarkdownClient also passes truthy unwrap values to parsing. Tests cover attributes, streaming, defined components, and unwrap; the docs describe wrapper attributes.
Svelte attribute forwarding
packages/comark-svelte/src/types.ts, packages/comark-svelte/src/components/*.svelte, packages/comark-svelte/src/async/MarkdownAsync.svelte, packages/comark-svelte/test/root-attributes*, docs/content/3.rendering/6.svelte.md
Svelte props now include root HTML attributes, excluding class and children from the shared type. The Markdown components forward remaining props to MarkdownDocument, which spreads them onto the root <div>. Tests cover server and browser rendering, and the docs describe wrapper attributes.
Angular and Vue attribute tests
packages/comark-angular/test/root-attributes.test.ts, packages/comark-vue/test/root-attributes.test.ts
Angular server-rendering tests check attributes on component hosts. Vue server-rendering tests check attributes on renderer roots for Markdown, document, streaming, parsed input, and defined component wrappers.
