With Csound 7.0.0, Fluid fails to compile because GetTypeForArg returns a const type descriptor. Chua and linear algebra build, but Csound refuses to load them with “missing or incompatible version information”.

Keep the const descriptor in Fluid and export csoundModuleInfo from Chua and linear algebra using CSOUND_MODULE_INFO.

Add CTest/GTest coverage that loads each built library through Csound's native loader and compiles its opcode calls. Move the Csound 7 native CI builds from beta.18 to 7.0.0.

Related: grame-cncm/faust#1365 has merged the Csound 7 fix for the standalone faust2csound generator. The faustcsound plugin here uses libfaust through its own adapter, so this PR does not depend on that merge or need a Faust version bump.

Validation:

  • Targeted Chua, linear-algebra, and Fluid builds and loader tests pass on x86_64 Linux and aarch64 macOS with Csound 7.0.0.
  • Confirmed the Fluid compile error and both loader failures before the fix.
  • Linux used the bundled GMM headers. The macOS build used -fno-slp-vectorize to avoid a separate Clang 21 crash in GMM.
  • Windows and WASM were not tested locally.
  • git diff --check passes.

Prepared with assistance from Codex (GPT-6).

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Builds
    • Plugin builds now use the stable Csound 7.0.0 release instead of a beta version.
  • Tests
    • Added checks that verify the Chua, linear algebra, and Fluid plugins can load and their opcodes can be used in orchestra code.

Keep the const type descriptor returned by GetTypeForArg in Fluid.
Export csoundModuleInfo from Chua and linear algebra so Csound 7
can validate their ABI and load them.

Add native loader tests and update Csound 7 CI to the stable release.

Walkthrough

The build workflow now uses Csound 7.0.0. The CMake configuration adds conditional native plugin-loader tests for Chua, linear algebra, and Fluid. Chua and linear algebra add module-info functions, and Fluid updates a pointer declaration.

Fix the loader tests before merging: builds in paths with spaces can fail their tests, while an installed plugin can hide a failure to load the newly built library.

Review comments at @7.x/tests/plugin_load_test.cpp:
- Line 30: Update the option string in the plugin-loading test so the value of
plugin is enclosed in double quotes, allowing Csound’s option parser to preserve
spaces in the plugin path.
- Line 32: Update the test assertion around csoundCompileOrc to also verify that
messages() confirms the requested plugin was loaded; compilation success alone
does not prove the built artifact loaded.

Quote opcode library paths so build directories can contain spaces.
Check the exact load message as well as orchestra compilation: an rc
file can load an installed copy and hide a failed load of the build
artifact.
