Summary

User messages in detail views were rendered as Markdown, so hashes in pasted logs became headings and ordinary line breaks collapsed visually.

  • Render user content as literal text with white-space: pre-wrap in both main and subagent detail panels.
  • Keep assistant Markdown, syntax highlighting, and inline Output items unchanged.
  • Add regressions using the reported Vivado excerpt and document the rendering behavior.

Fixes #328.

Testing

  • Added two regressions that failed before the fix with an unexpected <h1>; all 57 MessageDetail/DetailItem tests pass afterward.
  • npm run check — passed: both TypeScript checks, lint, formatting, Clippy, 668 frontend tests, and 950 Rust tests. Lint reports two existing warnings in untouched tests.
  • cargo clippy --manifest-path src-tauri/Cargo.toml -- -D warnings — passed.
  • Chromium verification with the issue's full log — baseline produces a heading and altered text; fixed rendering preserves exact text, whitespace, and visible line breaks.
  • npm run test:e2e — 16 passed, 2 credential-HMR tests timed out. Both timeouts also reproduce on an unchanged baseline copy; they are unrelated to message rendering.
