Summary

  • A finished macOS update told the operator to quit and open BiFlow again, but the version never changed. Closing the window only hides the process in the menu bar, and opening the app again returns to that same process.
  • The disk image is now staged with ditto. After the administrator prompt, BiFlow exits, and a detached helper waits until that process is gone, swaps /Applications/BiFlow.app, and opens the new bundle as the desktop user.
  • Version is 6.2.76 so the next push to main publishes a build that contains this relaunch.

Test plan

  • The generated helper script waits for the running process, checks CFBundleShortVersionString, and only then replaces /Applications/BiFlow.app
  • sh -n accepts the generated script, and the administrator command returns before BiFlow exits
  • cargo test -p iran-split-desktop --lib github_update, Clippy with warnings denied, pnpm check, and pnpm build
  • On an Apple Silicon Mac running an older build, About → Install update prompts for an administrator password, BiFlow quits, and /Applications/BiFlow.app reopens on the new version

Made with Cursor

Closing the window left the previous BiFlow process running, so the finished update never became the version on screen.
