About this Repository

This repository serves two main purposes for the X Linux ecosystem:

  1. Repository Portal — A single explanatory page built with Next.js that documents the endpoints, usage and package flow.
  2. System Packages — Core configuration, branding files, and tools for the X Linux filesystem.

Website

The portal is one static page: centered links to every equislinux repository plus a short explanation of the artifacts served from here. It is deployed together with the packages:

  • Next.js 16 — React framework with the App Router and static export.
  • Tailwind CSS 4 — Styling with the X palette defined in app/globals.css.
  • @xscriptor/xcomponents — XDecryptedText decrypt animation for the repository links.

Site Structure

app/
├── layout.tsx # Root layout and metadata
├── page.tsx # Centered repo links + artifact explanation
└── globals.css # Tailwind entry, X palette and @source

System Packages

The packages/ directory contains the essential X Linux filesystem components:

x-release

System identity and branding package. It includes:

  • Identity — os-release templates and GRUB defaults.
  • Assets — Official distributor logo in /usr/share/pixmaps/x.svg.
  • Tools — x-release-apply to sync branding with the running system.

Build and Publish

Run build-packages.sh from the repository root (requires an Arch-like environment with makepkg and repo-add):

./build-packages.sh

It builds the PKGBUILD packages, refreshes public/repo/x86_64/ and regenerates the pacman database. Then commit and run the deploy workflow (see docs/publishing.md).

Note: Both build paths are live: build-packages.sh builds the PKGBUILD packages with makepkg for the pacman [x] repo, and scripts/build-xp.sh builds the XBUILD/PKGBUILD set with xpkg for the native .xp endpoint consumed by xpm.
