Literal dollars in values such as regex patterns gain extra escapes when a config is loaded with interpolation disabled or overrides, then saved again.
Decode those escapes when reading values, including JSON containers. Preserve the raw escapes on dict strings containing references so deferred interpolation and subsequent saves still work.
With
interpolate=False, literal dollar values now contain$rather than the encoded$$; variable references remain deferred.Validation: full test suite, regression cases for round trips and mixed dollar/reference values, Ruff and Pyright.
