Part of fizzyedit/work#655
In plain words
Fizzy keeps using the current tools provided by Zig, without changing how the editor behaves. The main cleanup was already included in this checkout; this finishes one remaining call in the Windows glass experiment.
What you will notice
Nothing visible: internal.
How this serves fizzy
Goal: Zig standard (plans#50), keeping fizzy maintainable while preserving its behaviour.
Goal
Part of fizzyedit/work#655. Finish the mechanical standard-library deprecation sweep; the main sweep already landed in cca83bc (PR #985).
What changed and why
Replace the Windows composition spike's
std.fmt.bufPrintZwithstd.mem.printSentinel(..., 0), the pinned Zig 0.17 API. Preserve the title text, null terminator, buffer and error fallback. Source diff: two lines added, two removed; no formatting churn. How it was verified
Formatting, native build, web check, lint, SDK-version and test-reachability gates pass. The source search for
ArrayListUnmanaged|fmt\.bufPrintfinds only the three explicitly excluded files. Gate summaries and sandbox limitations are in GATES.md. No behaviour test was added for this mechanical API replacement. The installed standard library confirms the sentinel-preserving API signature; the Windows spike cross-build needs an uncached SDL dependency and could not complete offline.Self-review: Q1 source criterion met, full gates limited by sandbox; Q2 no redundancy or Zig-standard issues found; Q3 keep the direct standard-library replacement; Q4 aligned with plans#50 and the code-quality principle. Risk: Windows spike was not cross-built here.
Not done / follow-ups
As requested, leave
src/editor/Editor.zig(PR #951),plugins/dashboard/src/View.zig(PR #967), andtests/integration.zig(PR #969) for follow-up once those changes merge. The harness handles publishing and issue closure, including superseded work#48 and work#50.Changes (1 files, +2/-2)
