Jim's native host was pinned to Echo 90f63ae (2026-07-17), 1054 commits behind Echo main, and the Edict package chain to Edict 2b4832e and Echo b314f7f. Jim never exercised the Echo and Edict being built. This moves both to current mains.

Native host on Echo main 0faaf58

Change Why
warp-core, echo-wasm-abi, echo-registry-api → 0faaf58 Use the Echo being built.
src/generated/contract.rs regenerated with Echo main's echo-wesley-gen --contract-host Generated rules now take observed executors (RuleExecutor::observed).
Executors read through ExecutionGraphView via an ObservedGraph GraphFacts adapter Every fact a plan reads is recorded in Echo's observed footprint. Footprints decode vars with eint_vars_for_op over the plain GraphView, as Echo's own contract-host fixtures do.
Receipt check uses InstalledInvocationEvidence::legacy_contract() Echo made receipt evidence an enum (documented pre-1.0 change); the host requires the generated-contract variant and checks op id and kind as before.
ReplaceRange oracle regenerated Only sourceSet.digestHex (it covers every declared source path, including Cargo.toml and Cargo.lock) and its sidecar changed. Schema, codec vectors, and every oracle case are byte-identical.

Edict package chain on Edict main 2ddc069 + Echo main

Change Why
Toolchain lock: new Edict/Echo commits and Echo main's provider identity New provider digest, manifest, lowerer and verifier components; target profile and verifier contract unchanged.
edict.lawpack.json compatibility and corpus digests Follow the regenerated oracle.
vendor/jedit-text republished by Edict main Only the manifest changed, so ReplaceRange.edict imports the new manifest digest.
Build and executable-subject locks Written by assert-build-output.mjs --write-locks from a real build. Package identity sha256:37b51045….
Conformance runtime → Echo main Same Echo as the provider.

Validation

  • cargo clippy --all-targets -D warnings clean; all native host tests pass.
  • npm run check: 842 pass, 0 fail.
  • With Node 22.23.1 and Rust 1.96.0: edict/replace-range/tests/build.sh (both runtime witnesses) and all 12 proof-harness.spec.mjs regressions pass.

Not in this PR

This makes Jim run against current Echo and Edict. Production edits still go through the transitional Wesley package; the Edict-built ReplaceRange runs only in the test-only pure runtime. Keeping pins current (drift) and the stateful Edict cutover are follow-ups.

Moves warp-core, echo-wasm-abi, and echo-registry-api from Echo 90f63ae
(2026-07-17, 1054 commits behind) to Echo main 0faaf58.

- Regenerated src/generated/contract.rs with Echo main's echo-wesley-gen
--contract-host. Generated rules now take observed executors.
- Executors read the graph through ExecutionGraphView via an ObservedGraph
GraphFacts adapter, so every fact a plan reads is recorded in Echo's
observed footprint. Footprints decode vars with eint_vars_for_op over
the plain GraphView, as Echo's own contract-host fixtures do.
- Receipts now carry InstalledInvocationEvidence; the host requires the
LegacyContract variant and checks its op id and kind as before.
- Regenerated the ReplaceRange oracle corpus: only sourceSet.digestHex
(which hashes Cargo.toml and Cargo.lock) and its sidecar changed. The
schema, codec vectors, and every oracle case are byte-identical.
Moves the package chain from Edict 2b4832e and Echo b314f7f to Edict
main 2ddc069 and Echo main 0faaf58.

- Toolchain lock: new Edict and Echo commits and Echo main's provider
identity (new provider digest, manifest, lowerer, and verifier
components; target profile and verifier contract unchanged).
- edict.lawpack.json: compatibility and conformance-corpus digests follow
the regenerated ReplaceRange oracle (host now on Echo main).
- vendor/jedit-text republished by Edict main; only the manifest changed,
so ReplaceRange.edict imports the new manifest digest.
- Build and executable-subject locks written by assert-build-output.mjs
--write-locks from the real build; package identity is now
  sha256:37b51045160d164b520b3c36af7521659fd199f08e09314bd52c312dd825c47d.
- The conformance runtime builds against Echo main.

Verified with Node 22.23.1 and Rust 1.96.0: tests/build.sh (both runtime
witnesses) and all 12 proof-harness regressions pass.
Brings in #371. CHANGELOG keeps both entries. 0158's artifact digest
ledger now names the .sha256 sidecars, which the law-cycle spec checks,
instead of quoting digests that the Echo move changed.

@codex review please, focus on the native host's move to ExecutionGraphView (ObservedGraph adapter, footprint vars decoding), the legacy_contract() receipt check, and whether the regenerated oracle and Edict locks are consistent with each other.

The release closure also prevents ambient upgrades. A retained event or

Every evaluation records `JimRelease L`; an upgrade from `L1` to `L2` is an
explicit, admitted Jim transition with a migration result and receipt.
Historical commands remain governed by the release that originally interpreted
them. There is no ambient current `edict.std.collections`, target instruction
set, effect protocol, or structural provider when its reading changes command
meaning.

264-284: 🩺 Stability & Availability

No lifetime or nested-borrow defect exists in ObservedGraph.

The pinned ExecutionGraphView API returns references with the 'store lifetime. The temporary RefCell borrow records the read and does not own the returned data. The inspected GraphFacts consumers use each reference immediately and do not retain it across another graph call.

257-260: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality

The concern is refuted. The pinned Echo implementation defines observed_eint_vars_for_op as the recording counterpart of eint_vars_for_op; both inspect the same runtime-ingress attachment and decode the same EINT envelope. Echo explicitly requires matchers and footprint computation to use eint_vars_for_op. runtime_ingress_eint_read_footprint already declares the scope node and attachment reads. The requested comparison test is optional coverage, not a demonstrated contract violation.

native/jedit-echo-host/src/host.rs: 1

371-379: 🎯 Functional Correctness

Do not add a package or artifact-hash comparison here.

legacy_contract() intentionally accepts only LegacyContract evidence. ProviderV1 is not generated-contract evidence, so returning None is correct.

admit_installed_contract_submission derives the operation ID from the envelope, retrieves the matching installed package evidence, and passes that evidence into runtime ingestion. The receipt therefore retains the installed package identity. The final host check only needs to validate the expected operation ID and kind. The shared error message accurately covers both missing and non-legacy generated-contract evidence.

Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

Keep the revision in sync across manifests.

This manifest uses 0faaf58a15a4b03036cf36b465d79af76c952193, the same as native/jedit-echo-host/Cargo.toml. The pin is an exact rev, so reproducibility is already met. Add a CI check that fails when the two pins diverge. The PR notes that pin drift is deferred, so this check would give that deferral an owner.
