Use area throughout the Python message API and tests. Prepare version 1.1.0 with matching dependency constraints and release archives. Include the pending database connection cleanup.
Validation: 22 tests passed (0 skipped); Ruff lint/format and strict mypy passed. Wheel/sdist builds, metadata checks, sdist rebuild and clean consumer installation passed.
