Closes #426

What

  • The server serves themes built on kit 0.15.1.
  • The kit is at 0.15.1 with its changelog dated, and its README points at the Theme compatibility page.

Why

Kit 0.15.1 carries the content route fix for addresses with accented or non-Latin letters, and block parser 5.57.0. A server runs a theme only when it lists the theme's kit patch, so main serves 0.15.1 before the kit reaches npm. Merging publishes nothing. The kit is tagged after the 0.18.2 release that serves it.

Testing Instructions

  1. Run GOWORK=off go test ./internal/themehost/... ./internal/server/.... It passes.
  2. In sdk/astro, run pnpm run cover. It passes at 100%. npm pack --dry-run names @gophenberg/astro@0.15.1.
  3. Run make e2e-serve. It builds the starter theme on this kit, and .e2e-themes/starter/theme.json says "kit":"0.15.1".
  4. Open /api/content/v1. The kit list ends with "0.15.0","0.15.1".
  5. In the admin, activate the starter theme. Publish a post titled Café and open /café on the site. The post renders instead of a 404.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Theme kits built with version 0.15.1 are now supported. Themes using this kit require Gophenberg 0.18.2 or newer.
  • Documentation

    • Installation guidance now explains that a site can run a theme only when its Gophenberg release serves the kit version the theme was built with, and links to compatibility details.
  • Release

    • The Astro SDK is now version 0.15.1.

A premature kit tag can leave themes built on 0.15.1 rejected by released servers. This is a bounded release-order risk; merge with the prerequisite server release sequence owned or publication gated.

[Medium impact] No blocking findings remain. The only change since the previous review is the kit 0.15.1 changelog date, which does not change runtime behavior.

Summary

The PR adds support for themes built with kit 0.15.1 and prepares the kit’s release metadata.

  • Gophenberg accepts themes built with kit 0.15.1.
  • The Astro kit package is 0.15.1, with its server requirement spelled out.

🟡 Minor · Gate the 0.15.1 publication on v0.18.2. · package.json:1-4

Gate the 0.15.1 publication on v0.18.2.

@gophenberg/astro@0.15.1 becomes publishable from an astro@0.15.1 tag, but .github/workflows/publish-kit.yml validates only the package version. It does not require the server tag. If the kit tag is pushed first, themes built on 0.15.1 can be rejected by released servers that do not yet serve that kit version. Add a pre-publish check for v0.18.2, or use one ordered release workflow, so this requirement does not depend only on manual sequencing.
