This project is a MATLAB App Designer application for basic image processing and analysis. It is designed to help users load an image, inspect its histogram, view summary statistics, and apply common enhancement and detection operations through a simple graphical interface.
The application focuses on practical image processing workflows. It lets the user work with a source image and visualize how the image changes after applying techniques such as gamma correction, logarithmic and exponential transforms, histogram equalization, contrast stretching, Otsu thresholding, and Sobel edge detection.
It is a good educational project for understanding how image enhancement and segmentation methods affect the visual appearance and pixel distribution of an image.
- Load an image from disk.
- Display the original image and its grayscale version.
- Show the image histogram.
- Compute basic image statistics such as mean, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, threshold, and size.
- Apply gamma correction using a user-defined gamma value.
- Apply logarithmic and exponential transforms.
- Perform contrast stretching.
- Perform histogram equalization.
- Detect edges using the Sobel operator.
- Segment the image using Otsu thresholding.
- Reset the interface to the original state.
