v0.2.46.0 feat: Cycle 0055 pt2: the LLM Wiki view in the Activity Bar shows, opens and updates the generated Wiki - #134
Refs #132 (Cycle 0055, a feature cycle: second of its two pull requests, per Owner decision O6). The first, PR #133 (v0.2.45.0), is merged: Codebook: Generate LLM Wiki. This one adds the LLM Wiki view in the Activity Bar, the codebookLearning icon and the native trial N55.
Summary
The LLM Wiki view (proposed change 1, tasks 2 and 5b).
codebook.llmWiki, titled LLM Wiki, in the codebook Activity Bar container after the Repository Wiki view. Its rows come from one pure function (readLlmWikiViewState, Eng decision 82) over one facts record (readLlmWikiViewFacts): no folder, untrusted, loading, error, and in a ready folder row 1 (the Wiki, with the shared freshness label and the X1 generation tooltip), row 2 (this window's run), 2b (another window's run), 2c (a stopped VS Code watch's reservation), 3 (Last generation stopped), 4 (attention: the ten WikiUpdateConflictCause values and a foreign manifest) and 5 (Output: <folder> with Change location).
Empty state:viewsWelcome per host (codebook.host) on an empty tree with no TreeView.message and codebook.llmWiki.state == none: the Generate LLM Wiki button, the runner and plan line (E1-F2's approvals wording in VS Code) and the inline Change location link.
Refresh (createLlmWikiView): this window's run (WikiUpdateRun.onDidChange), a file watcher on the manifest, the three marker files and the Wiki folder itself (1 s trailing debounce), the output setting, trust, visibility, a 30 s poll while a run row shows, and the title bar's Refresh. A refresh with nothing new fires no tree change. The late-publication notice tells a Wiki published while row 2c or 3 stood.
Commands (registerLlmWikiCommands): Refresh, Show LLM Wiki Details (with Copy details, home folder as ~ via withHomeFolderShown), Copy LLM Wiki Recovery Request (a chat request, never a shell command), Reveal LLM Wiki Folder, and view-only wrappers for Stop watching, Cancel, Open Chat, Change location, Open Folder and Manage Workspace Trust (resolveManageTrustCommand).
One freshness label (describeWikiFreshness) for the reader page and row 1, passed to the served page through WikiUpdatePageSettings (the installer is serialized with toString()).
Icon:learning.svg (an open notebook with a check mark, currentColor) for codebookLearning, so the two containers no longer share book.svg; the VSIX inventory counts it (32 → 33 entries).
Docs:extension/README.mdThe LLM Wiki view section (rows, attention rows, refresh, watch scope, palette commands) and the learning icon; CHANGELOG 0.2.46.0; root README status.
Review fixes beyond the plan (each with a test that fails without it): watcher matching on case-folded paths and real paths (Windows drive letters, symlinked ancestors), glob escaping ([, ], {, }, *, ?), the watch never above the project folder, on the home folder or a root, directory-only delete and rename events, one follow-up read after a watcher is made or moved, single-flight freshness checks, a read loop where any throw shows the error row, an expired reservation that no longer hides Generate/Update, the late-publication memory per folder, NaN-safe times, listener isolation in WikiUpdateRun, and palette commands listed only where the view exists.
Test Coverage
Step 7 audit: 30 new code paths, 28 with a test (93 %), 25 at ★★ or better (83 % value-weighted); the audit added 2 tests. The review rounds then added the rest, each red without its fix (pass 1: the state cells, the cross-folder notice and the redaction; pass 2: three state cells and the walk-back; pass 3 and Step 11: 27 items, with the new test files llmWikiViewReadLoop, readLlmWikiViewFacts, chooseWikiWatchFolder, describeWikiWatch and fullCommitHash). The read-loop tests also cover the audit's freshness gap (a stale answer is dropped).
Test value: 2 tests written by the coverage audit, 0 rejected, 1 existing test file extended; 1 path weakly covered (★: a failed update shows no last-attempt row, backed by the generation-notice guard).
Tests ran: tests (pnpm test, the gate below).
Hosted CodeRabbit's review of e3d1721a (2 Minor findings) added 3 tests and changed the expected message of 2 (the reservation's message): see the reply on this PR.
Changed existing tests, with reasons: escapeGlobCharacters (] is now escaped); three watch-glob expectations in llmWikiView.test.ts (the brace list that includes the Wiki folder); "five file events…" expects 2 reads (the burst still coalesces to one; the watcher's move adds the one follow-up read); the wiki[1] matcher (includes, the glob now starts with {); the mid-publication test rewritten on the harness's publication-read hold (its intermediate state became unreachable once the receipt is read first; the memory-hold behaviour moved to a deterministic read-loop test); readLlmWikiViewState's ready() gains projectRoot; package.test.mjs expects version 0.2.46 and 33 entries; the window harness (wikiUpdateWindow.ts) now opens a window after the view's first read, because the view's follow-up read took a publish-token hold that wikiUpdateFlow's "a window that closes while the failed end of a start that threw is being recorded…" arranged for the run's end (10/10 red alone on 076ac9f3, 10/10 green after; assertions unchanged).
Pre-Landing Review
/ship Step 9 ran three fixing cycles and did not converge (converged:false, the cap). Under the owner's rule (2026-10-23), every finding of the last round (Step 9 pass 3, Step 11 and the local CodeRabbit CLI's) was fixed, Minor and below included; no Critical or Major defect stays open, so none is recorded as a next-cycle Issue. The informational findings passes 1–2 answered Skip (feature-cycle rule) are #132 tasks 24–32; findings re-raised in the last round were fixed instead of carried.
Pass 1 (7 specialists + red team + core + design-lite + QA smoke): fixed 10 critical (eight untested state cells of the reservation, run and elsewhere rows across a setting change or a removed folder, a late publication notice for another folder, the home-folder redaction); 17 informational skipped.
Pass 2: fixed 3 untested state cells and the late-publication memory overwritten mid-publication; 17 informational skipped.
Pass 3 and Step 11 (Claude adversarial, Codex adversarial, Codex structured review: P2 only, gate PASS): fixed 26 findings plus the local CodeRabbit CLI's publication-read order (076ac9f3), then one harness interaction the full lane showed (7a02e59d). Codex adversarial's three Medium findings: an expired reservation marker hid Generate/Update, overlapping freshness checks, and a publication between the first read and the watcher's registration.
Review binding: the reviews do not bind to the final tree (each round's fixes changed it; no fourth cycle is allowed). The exact-HEAD gate below runs on the final tree.
Gate edits: 53 listed, 19 read, 0 findings — the three RH-16 hunks (the view's read loop shows the error row for any throw; WikiUpdateRun isolates its listeners; the Output channel) are justified, the package test's version and inventory lines are release metadata and the new icon, and the harness hunks reuse one hold factory and dispose the window's subscriptions on close.
Outside review: Codex adversarial completed (3 Medium, fixed); Codex structured review completed (P2 only, gate PASS, fixed).
Hosted CodeRabbit on e3d1721a: 2 Minor findings (a comma in a folder name splits the watcher's brace list; the watching message during a reservation alone), both fixed in 35d481e3 with tests red on e3d1721a; no outside-diff finding; pre-merge checks 5/5 pass.
Exploratory QA
Functional smoke (Step 9.2.1, report-only, .gstack/qa-reports/c55-pt2-ship-20261026T212103): 2/2 PASS — the served reader keeps every Reader DOM contract with the shared freshness label (56/56), and the candidate VSIX ships learning.svg beside book.svg (package checker exit 0). The view's rows, refresh triggers and stop flows are exercised by host tests and natively by N55, not by these probes.
Native trial N55 (task 6)
PASS for steps 1–6 in both hosts; step 7 PASS with finding N55-F4 (N55 result). Space local:codebook-qa (macOS 26.5.2), QA clone of nextjs-dashboard1936e41, candidate codebook-pt2-d4150d3b.vsix (SHA-256 68488dc0…7a11e), skill 1.0.49; four OBS Window Capture takes at 30 fps with their frames inspected.
VS Code 1.142.0, Copilot Chat with GPT-6 Luna: Generate from the empty view published in 32 min 05 s; Cursor 3.27.12 with cursor-agent (Grok 4.6 High Fast): 4 min 27 s.
The reader matched region 3 of the v9 PNG element by element; 6 of 6 sampled claims per host were correct against the source; each host's own question cited file:line, and the click opened that line in the same host.
? opened Keyboard shortcuts and ? typed into the question; Update after a meaning change (ITEMS_PER_PAGE) stated the new value with its citation; Stop watching (VS Code) and Cancel (Cursor) left the planned states.
Impact reason for the final head: N55 ran on d4150d3b. The later commits change the watcher's matching and scope, disposal, accessible names, glob escaping, Copy details, the read loop's error handling, the freshness check's concurrency, an expired reservation, NaN-safe times and three palette entries. None changes a row, label, notice, welcome, confirmation or reader pixel N55 observed for a live reservation, a run, the empty state or a published Wiki; the reader page is unchanged. The new tooltip sentence for a Wiki without a Git revision did not arise in N55 (both Wikis recorded a revision). One observed text changes: CodeRabbit's finding (fixed in 35d481e3) replaces the message above the tree while only a reservation stands in VS Code. N55 step 5b showed Codebook is watching the chat. … there after Stop watching, which was untrue once the watch had stopped; it now reads Codebook stopped watching the chat, which may still publish this Wiki. To stop it, stop the request in the chat. The rows, the refusal and the reservation are unchanged; the new text is pinned by host tests (readLlmWikiViewState.test.ts, llmWikiView.test.ts) and was not re-observed natively. Carried from N55: N55-F2, F3, F4 (Cycle 0055: Codebook's Activity Bar generates, opens and updates the LLM Wiki, re-proven natively in both hosts #132 tasks 21–23).
Design Review
Design Review (lite): one design specialist per pass — pass 1: no design finding recorded; pass 2: 4 informational skipped (icons, casing, welcome wording, Change location affordance; #132 task 31); pass 3: 1 fixed (the no-Git caveat now also in the tooltip). Detector: IMPECCABLE_READY, 0 findings against origin/main. Native image comparison with region 3 and the four-theme icon check: N55 steps 1–2.
Eval Results
No prompt-related files changed — evals skipped. (The bundled skill is unchanged at 1.0.49.)
Greptile Review
Greptile is not used on this repository.
Scope Drift
Scope Check: CLEAN (pt2 per O6).
Plan Completion
38 pt2 items of the /autoplan plan: 30 DONE, 4 CHANGED (Update's inline icon cloud-download so it does not clash with Refresh; row 2's and row 5's actions through view-only wrapper commands; the VS Code welcome's third line per E1-F2), 1 PARTIAL (the manage-trust command id is confirmed in VS Code by N55; Cursor's QA window was already trusted, so the id is covered by a host test only — #132 task 29), 1 NOT DONE → done (the CHANGELOG, written in Step 13), 2 UNVERIFIABLE to the auditor → confirmed by the driving agent (N55 and its native evidence, which it ran and hashed itself).
Step 8.1's plan checks are AC 8's 15-check exact-HEAD gate, CI and hosted CodeRabbit: the gate's results are below; CI and CodeRabbit follow on this PR.
TODOS
No TODOS.md: the repository forbids one (AGENTS.md); carried defects are #132 tasks.
Documentation
Status: updated, no blockers. Root README.md status paragraph corrected to the 0.2.46.0 release state.
Scope: base 293ded8 to the working tree of codex/cycle-0055-pt2, covering committed, staged and unstaged bytes. Docs roots audited: README.md, extension/README.md, CHANGELOG.md, extension/skills/codebook/SKILL.md. AGENTS.md, PRODUCT_GOAL.md, docs/agents/* and the v9 PNG were inventoried but not edited by instruction.
extension/README.md: Current (the LLM Wiki view, welcome, rows, attention rows, error row, refresh triggers, commands and Activity Bar icon are all documented).
CHANGELOG.md: Reviewed, not edited (parent-owned).
extension/skills/codebook/SKILL.md: Current (skill stays 1.0.49; no skill diff).
AGENTS.md, PRODUCT_GOAL.md, docs/agents/*: Not edited (owner-controlled).
Coverage debt: none. Diagram drift: none (no authored diagram docs).
Test plan
The 15-check exact-HEAD gate (AGENTS.md Commands and checks, AC 8), with LANG=en_US.UTF-8 as CI uses, ran on e3d1721a607d and again on the CodeRabbit fix head 35d481e39be4 (tree c6a28de49c91), every check exit 0 and the tree clean before and after; the counts below are 35d481e3's:
… LLM Wiki view
The page installer is serialized with toString(), so the shared wording is one
pure function handed to it through WikiUpdatePageSettings.describeFreshness.
Refs #132
… and commands
readLlmWikiViewState is the one pure row function (Eng decision 82);
readLlmWikiViewFacts gathers its facts through window closures; llmWikiView
is the tree data provider with the debounce, watcher and poll triggers.
Refs #132
The watcher stands on the output's parent (the markers lie beside the output
folder); the harness gains tree views, trust, folder, clipboard and file events.
Refs #132
…s and glob escaping
Compare watcher paths in one spelling (drive letter and case), end a read that finishes after dispose, set each row's accessible name to label plus description, keep the late-publication memory across a failed read, skip the freshness check while no Wiki row is shown, and escape glob characters in the Wiki folder name.
Refs #132
…why five waits prove an absence
The pre-gate's secret scan read the field name key with a high-entropy value as a
credential; the field is the view's context-key value. Five fixed waits prove that
nothing more happens after the shortened debounce or a close, so each now says so
with gstack-timing-ok. No assertion changes.
Refs #132
- The late-publication notice remembers the output folder: after the setting
names another folder that already holds a Wiki, no false "published" notice;
a folder removed and restored keeps the memory.
- Copy details hides the home folder only as a whole path (a sibling account
such as /Users/adam stays whole; Windows case and separators match).
- Host tests for every untested state cell of the view (reservation, last
attempt, run, another window x setting changed, folder removed and restored,
wait ended without a publication), and the coverage audit's two tests
(a Cursor generation past its bound; a stopped generation of another folder).
Refs #132
- A read that lands mid-publication (the publisher's new receipt stands, the
Wiki is not readable yet) no longer replaces the view's late-publication
memory, so the read that shows the Wiki still tells "An LLM Wiki was
published". Found red in a loaded full test run; a held publication read
reproduces it.
- Host tests for three more state cells: this window's run and its last
attempt survive a removed marker file; a Wiki published while another
window runs shows the Wiki row and tells no notice.
Refs #132
Read loop (llmWikiView.ts)
1. Any throw in one read shows the error row and is recorded once; no refresh rejects.
2. Single-flight freshness check with one coalesced re-run; a failed check is not cached; dispose and folder changes drop the answer.
3. A new or moved watcher is followed by one more read.
4. The freshness check takes the project root and output folder of the facts (projectRoot added to the facts).
5. The mid-publication hold ends where an attention row or this window's run shows.
6. The mid-publication host test no longer depends on timing.
Watcher
7. The watch includes the output folder and the folders before it.
8. The watch never goes above the project root, never to the home folder or a root; an outside output needs an existing parent, else the no-watcher fallback.
9. Events are matched in their real-path spelling too.
10. Different Windows drives use the no-watcher fallback (describeWikiWatch).
11. escapeGlobCharacters escapes the closing bracket.
Marker rows
12. A reservation past its deadline shows no Waiting for chat row.
13. Explicit token read state instead of the 'unreadable' sentinel.
14. Non-finite start times show no minutes or time.
27. The receipt is read before the manifest facts.
Rows and wording
15. The no-Git caveat is also in the Wiki row tooltip.
16. One minutes rule; attentionRowOf shared.
17. Run-like row id groups are typed and exported.
Commands and small items
18. lastFacts removed; whenIdle and requestRefresh documented as test seams.
19. Command ids as constants.
20. Debounce and poll arguments kept: the host harness replaces constants for extension.ts only.
21. The three palette commands are listed only while the view has set its state key.
22. fullCommitHash accepts 40 or 64 digits only, with a direct test.
23. withHomeFolderShown needs a left boundary and ignores case on macOS.
24. A throwing WikiUpdateRun listener no longer skips the others.
Tests
25. Change location query and Reveal Wiki Folder Uri are asserted.
26. Dismissing the details notice copies nothing; a stale row id shows nothing.
…st read
The view's follow-up read after its watcher stands (076ac9f, item 3) took a
publish-token hold that wikiUpdateFlow's 'a window that closes while the
failed end of a start that threw is being recorded' arranged for the run's
end, so the close was raced against the wrong read (10/10 red alone). The
window harness now waits for the view's first read before a test arranges
holds, unless the test holds a step at open. The read-loop test's fixed wait
states its bound (gstack-timing-ok).
The view can present an unverified manifest as published Wiki content in a narrow failure state; fix or explicitly accept this before merging.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to 35d48
The new view reuses existing Wiki operations without an observed trust or privilege bypass. Cancellation remains scoped to the current editor window. Live editor behavior and stale-view interactions were not verified, so the assessment retains some uncertainty.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The inspected actions operate within the existing editor window and its configured Wiki output, which may be outside the project. Cancellation reaches that window's active controller, not an arbitrary window or a marker-selected process.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
observed — Inspected repository-derived labels and tooltip text are assigned as plain tree-item strings. Command identifiers are selected separately by the row implementation, so this display path does not turn those strings into executable command links.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The facts reader returns before filesystem inspection when the workspace is untrusted. Reused Wiki operations independently resolve their location through requireWorkspace, which rejects untrusted, unsupported remote and virtual workspaces. Existing browser-opening checks also enforce output-path and project ownership checks.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — Stopping a VS Code watch does not stop its chat. Existing settlement retains a bounded reservation when publication may continue, while marker claims carry window identity and cancel earlier reservation timers for the same output. The new messages describe this distinction rather than changing publisher authority.
observed — Watch selection rejects the home directory and filesystem root, limits external-output watching to the output's own parent, and filters incoming events against planned exact paths. This bounds the new monitoring flow independently of its display state.

Context: ... Update LLM Wiki is available again whether or not the recorded process still exists. A Wi...
@coderabbitai Thank you for the review of 35d481e3. Disposition of the one outside-diff finding (readLlmWikiViewState.ts:542-558, "show the Wiki row only when facts.publication exists"): kept as is, not a defect, with this evidence:
A receipt that does not name the manifest is already handled.findWikiUpdateStartBlock compares the manifest's bytes with the hash in codebook-publication.json and returns cause edited-manifest when they differ (extension/src/utils/findWikiUpdateStartBlock.ts:314-320). That cause is a manifest-unusable attention row, which hides row 1 (hidesWiki; README The LLM Wiki view: "An unreadable manifest, an edited manifest, a link or a file in the folder's place hides the Wiki row"). A manifest that cannot be read is unreadable-manifest, same effect.
A manifest without a receipt is a published Wiki Codebook opens and updates. Wikis published before the publisher wrote receipts have none; for them findWikiUpdateStartBlock returns no block, Open LLM Wiki in Browser serves the site and Update LLM Wiki starts. The plan's row-1 condition (Issue Cycle 0055: Codebook's Activity Bar generates, opens and updates the LLM Wiki, re-proven natively in both hosts #132, proposed change 1) is "readWikiPublishToken and inspectPublishedWiki both answer, and no attention cause makes the manifest unusable", with no receipt condition.
Requiring facts.publication would make the view contradict the folder. With row 1 hidden and no other row, the view's state becomes none and shows the Generate LLM Wiki welcome over an existing Wiki; that Generate is then refused with An LLM Wiki already exists in <folder>. Update it instead? (O5). readWikiPublicationIdentity also answers undefined for a moment while the publisher replaces the receipt, so the row would flicker during a publish.
facts.publication is used for what it identifies: a new publication (the late-publication notice and the generate run's success), not whether a Wiki exists. Every other finding of both reviews is fixed in 35d481e3 and its threads are resolved.
- publishWiki.test.mjs: the two renderer overlap tests also assert every node and label id they draw, so a missing box cannot pass as no overlap (thread PRRT_kwDOUfzkCc6wb3y3).
- wikiRunLifecycleFlow.test.ts + harness: the serialised-deploy test waits for the second skill step to begin its wait for the first (the harness counts runUnderAbortSignal calls) instead of a fixed 100 ms; removing 'await earlierStep' now fails it (mostRunningDeploys 2) (thread PRRT_kwDOUfzkCc6wb3zQ).
- README.md: Tracking and continuation names Cycle 0056 Issue #135 as the active cycle and Cycle 0055 as closed after PR #133 and #134 (outside-diff finding).
…stops or passes its bound, and releases or writes back what it claimed (#136)
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: two conditional edges between stacked nodes keep readable labels (task 1)
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: each Wiki run helper and sentence lives in its own utility file (task 3)
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: a stop uses one verb per host, a block refusal shows no raw cause id, and the record keeps the id and its missing rows (tasks 7-10)
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: a joined press says so, the Cursor skill step stops and is bounded, a failed marker release is retried and a taken-over reservation is written back (tasks 2, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13)
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: the marker-retry test waits for the retry's answer, not the file's removal (task 11)
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: a storage-failure test holds its failing lstat over the save it checks (task 14)
The test refused only a save's lstat of the recording folder. A background refresh can save the run while preparation still awaits recordings.start (service.ts:3555), when record.recording is unset: that save names no folder, calls no lstat, succeeds, and leaves the study kept, so every later save skips the look (learningLibrary.ts:1179 needs !kept). Under load the stop then read history 'saved' with no errors.
Red: holding recordings.start 400 ms gives the diff + errors: [] / history: 'saved' vs 'failed' with the EACCES line. Fix: saves naming no folder are refused with the same EACCES until the test lifts the refusal.
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: the LLM Wiki view reads again once a run's marker is settled, so Waiting for chat shows without a file event (task 26)
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: review fixes (OCR M1, L1–L6; CodeRabbit CR1)
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: pre-landing review fixes (pass 1)
Items: RT1 a taken-over reservation is written back as the marker it was (host, pid, window, start, kind) instead of the refused start's; RT2 a closing window ends the Cursor skill step and waits (5 s) for the refused start's cleanup before dropping reservations; D1 the Cursor skill-step Stop says "cancelled at <time>"; D2 the no-path block sentence ends "to see what is in the way."; LANE wikiRunLifecycleFlow waits for the written-back reservation (the window's reserve answer), not the window id; SM1-SM5, T1, T2, SM6 new host/unit tests for the untested cells; M1 stale startWikiRun docs; M2 leaveClaimedMarker removed; M3 typed skill-step abort reasons; M4 LONGEST_WIKI_RUN_MS pinned to the kind x host maximum; M5 one TakenOverWikiReservation type; S1 wikiStart holds attempt and kind together (no fallback); S2 leaveWikiMarkerOfRefusedStart takes the claim directly. README sentences for D1, D2 and the shutdown/write-back behaviour.
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: pre-landing review fixes (pass 2)
Items: SM-A/SM-B a closing window leaves a written-back reservation of another window's stopped watch on disk (wikiReservations entries keep replacedMarker; only the window's own reservations are dropped at close); SM-C test: close during a hung deploy; RT-A reservation entry carries replacedMarker into the next take-over (test: two refused starts keep the original owner); RT-B a start whose bound fires while it waits for an earlier hung skill step says so (Reload Window, then press again); D-A block sentence "Press Update LLM Wiki for the details and the next step."; D-B skill-step Stop ends with "Press <Generate|Update> LLM Wiki when you want to start again."; D-C VS Code record summary "stopped watching by the learner or the closing window"; T-A runUnderAbortSignal own-error test; M-A/M-B doc fixes; M-C WikiRunKind in claimWikiUpdateMarker; S-A one WIKI_RUN_KIND_WORDS table; S-B WikiReservationEntry type. README sentences for D-A, D-B, D-C, RT-B and the shutdown behaviour.
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: pre-landing review fixes (pass 3 and adversarial review)
Items: SM3-A/SM3-B a window that closed between the claim and the Cursor skill step runs no verify or deploy and leaves its marker; SM3-C/SM3-D tests (close while a second press waits; three presses, one deploy); RT3-A a taken-over reservation is written back as the owner's exact text (replacedText) so the owner's release still removes it; RT3-B a marker change that fails while the window closes is kept and retried within the grace; RT3-C Remove Managed Cursor Skill ends the skill step and waits for it, or tells the learner and removes nothing; T3-A grace-derived limit; T3-B Update twin and Stop-while-waiting tests; M3-A pin kept and documented; M3-B earlier-step sentence composed in describeWikiSkillStepEnd; M3-C WikiReservationHandoff type; M3-D wikiSkillStepEndOf; C3-A WIKI_RUN_KIND_WORDS verb; A1 a written-back reservation is never restored from memory; A2 joined notice once per attempt and a choice-carrying press gets its own sentence; A3 skill-step cancel time stamped at Stop; A4 renderer: labels stack per gap, an edge across rows labels next to its source node (tests). README sentences for A2, RT3-A/B, RT3-C and SM3.
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: a Wiki start pressed during Remove Managed Cursor Skill readies no skill and starts no agent (pass 3)
The residual race of RT3-C named by the pass-3 fixer: the removal waits only for the skill step it found running, so a Generate or Update pressed while it runs verified and deployed the skill it was taking away and started an agent. A skill step that begins while the removal is under way now ends with 'Codebook is removing the managed Cursor skill in this window; no agent was started. Press <Generate|Update> LLM Wiki again when the removal has finished, and Codebook installs its skill again.' Test 'a Generate pressed while Remove Managed Cursor Skill is under way readies no skill, starts no agent and says why' red on 6dae785 (skillCalls [remove, verify, deploy], agentRuns 1). README sentence.
* docs: Cycle 0056 pt1: the README names the diagram label placement, the marker an ended start leaves, and 0.2.47.0 as the delivered version
* chore: bump version and changelog (v0.2.47.0)
Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix: Cycle 0056 pt1: the Windows job starts when longestWikiRunMs.ts, a source its marker tests load, changes (task 3 follow-up)
Task 3 moved longestWikiRunMs into its own file, which readLiveWikiUpdateMarker (run on Windows) imports; the job's path filter and its workflowPins pin now name it. Found by the Step 16 gate's test:package (2 workflowPins failures on 3505430).
* fix: resolve CodeRabbit review findings
* fix: resolve CodeRabbit review findings (labels with one midpoint)
- render-wiki-diagrams.mjs: a label band is one midpoint (the column sum) in one gap between rows, shared by horizontal and vertical edges: two edges that cross a gap at one midpoint (CodeRabbit outside-diff finding on 5aae743, labelBandOf), a row's horizontal label under a stack in the gap above it, and two horizontal pairs of one row with one midpoint no longer draw labels over each other. Diagrams that need no stacking keep the earlier label boxes (pinned test green).
- Tests red on 5aae743: 'two edges that cross the same gap at the same midpoint stack their labels…' (label e1 × label e2), 'a horizontal label below a stack of labels in the gap above its row keeps clear of that stack' (label e2 × label e3), 'two edges of one row between different nodes with one midpoint stack their labels' (label e1 × label e2).
- README and CHANGELOG name the case.
* docs: resolve CodeRabbit review finding (README names the marker retry and the reservation that is not brought back)
Outside-diff finding of review 5658747969 on d378235: the packaged README's Stopping-it paragraph now says that a reservation already gone from disk when a refused start ends is never brought back, and that a marker a start cannot remove at once is removed on a retry instead of standing until its bound, as the 0.2.47.0 CHANGELOG entry names.

Refs #132 (Cycle 0055, a feature cycle: second of its two pull requests, per Owner decision O6). The first, PR #133 (v0.2.45.0), is merged: Codebook: Generate LLM Wiki. This one adds the LLM Wiki view in the Activity Bar, the
codebookLearningicon and the native trial N55.Summary
The LLM Wiki view (proposed change 1, tasks 2 and 5b).
codebook.llmWiki, titled LLM Wiki, in thecodebookActivity Bar container after the Repository Wiki view. Its rows come from one pure function (readLlmWikiViewState, Eng decision 82) over one facts record (readLlmWikiViewFacts): no folder, untrusted, loading, error, and in a ready folder row 1 (the Wiki, with the shared freshness label and the X1 generation tooltip), row 2 (this window's run), 2b (another window's run), 2c (a stopped VS Code watch's reservation), 3 (Last generation stopped), 4 (attention: the tenWikiUpdateConflictCausevalues and a foreign manifest) and 5 (Output: <folder>with Change location).viewsWelcomeper host (codebook.host) on an empty tree with noTreeView.messageandcodebook.llmWiki.state == none: the Generate LLM Wiki button, the runner and plan line (E1-F2's approvals wording in VS Code) and the inline Change location link.createLlmWikiView): this window's run (WikiUpdateRun.onDidChange), a file watcher on the manifest, the three marker files and the Wiki folder itself (1 s trailing debounce), the output setting, trust, visibility, a 30 s poll while a run row shows, and the title bar's Refresh. A refresh with nothing new fires no tree change. The late-publication notice tells a Wiki published while row 2c or 3 stood.registerLlmWikiCommands): Refresh, Show LLM Wiki Details (with Copy details, home folder as~viawithHomeFolderShown), Copy LLM Wiki Recovery Request (a chat request, never a shell command), Reveal LLM Wiki Folder, and view-only wrappers for Stop watching, Cancel, Open Chat, Change location, Open Folder and Manage Workspace Trust (resolveManageTrustCommand).describeWikiFreshness) for the reader page and row 1, passed to the served page throughWikiUpdatePageSettings(the installer is serialized withtoString()).learning.svg(an open notebook with a check mark, currentColor) forcodebookLearning, so the two containers no longer sharebook.svg; the VSIX inventory counts it (32 → 33 entries).extension/README.mdThe LLM Wiki view section (rows, attention rows, refresh, watch scope, palette commands) and the learning icon; CHANGELOG 0.2.46.0; root README status.Review fixes beyond the plan (each with a test that fails without it): watcher matching on case-folded paths and real paths (Windows drive letters, symlinked ancestors), glob escaping (
[,],{,},*,?), the watch never above the project folder, on the home folder or a root, directory-only delete and rename events, one follow-up read after a watcher is made or moved, single-flight freshness checks, a read loop where any throw shows the error row, an expired reservation that no longer hides Generate/Update, the late-publication memory per folder, NaN-safe times, listener isolation inWikiUpdateRun, and palette commands listed only where the view exists.Test Coverage
Step 7 audit: 30 new code paths, 28 with a test (93 %), 25 at ★★ or better (83 % value-weighted); the audit added 2 tests. The review rounds then added the rest, each red without its fix (pass 1: the state cells, the cross-folder notice and the redaction; pass 2: three state cells and the walk-back; pass 3 and Step 11: 27 items, with the new test files
llmWikiViewReadLoop, readLlmWikiViewFacts, chooseWikiWatchFolder, describeWikiWatchandfullCommitHash). The read-loop tests also cover the audit's freshness gap (a stale answer is dropped).pnpm test, the gate below).e3d1721a(2 Minor findings) added 3 tests and changed the expected message of 2 (the reservation's message): see the reply on this PR.escapeGlobCharacters(]is now escaped); three watch-glob expectations inllmWikiView.test.ts(the brace list that includes the Wiki folder); "five file events…" expects 2 reads (the burst still coalesces to one; the watcher's move adds the one follow-up read); thewiki[1]matcher (includes, the glob now starts with{); the mid-publication test rewritten on the harness'spublication-readhold (its intermediate state became unreachable once the receipt is read first; the memory-hold behaviour moved to a deterministic read-loop test);readLlmWikiViewState'sready()gainsprojectRoot;package.test.mjsexpects version 0.2.46 and 33 entries; the window harness (wikiUpdateWindow.ts) now opens a window after the view's first read, because the view's follow-up read took a publish-token hold thatwikiUpdateFlow's "a window that closes while the failed end of a start that threw is being recorded…" arranged for the run's end (10/10 red alone on076ac9f3, 10/10 green after; assertions unchanged).Pre-Landing Review
/shipStep 9 ran three fixing cycles and did not converge (converged:false, the cap). Under the owner's rule (2026-10-23), every finding of the last round (Step 9 pass 3, Step 11 and the local CodeRabbit CLI's) was fixed, Minor and below included; no Critical or Major defect stays open, so none is recorded as a next-cycle Issue. The informational findings passes 1–2 answered Skip (feature-cycle rule) are #132 tasks 24–32; findings re-raised in the last round were fixed instead of carried.076ac9f3), then one harness interaction the full lane showed (7a02e59d). Codex adversarial's three Medium findings: an expired reservation marker hid Generate/Update, overlapping freshness checks, and a publication between the first read and the watcher's registration.Gate edits: 53 listed, 19 read, 0 findings — the three RH-16 hunks (the view's read loop shows the error row for any throw;
WikiUpdateRunisolates its listeners; the Output channel) are justified, the package test's version and inventory lines are release metadata and the new icon, and the harness hunks reuse one hold factory and dispose the window's subscriptions on close.Outside review: Codex adversarial completed (3 Medium, fixed); Codex structured review completed (P2 only, gate PASS, fixed).

Functional smoke (Step 9.2.1, report-only,
.gstack/qa-reports/c55-pt2-ship-20261026T212103): 2/2 PASS — the served reader keeps every Reader DOM contract with the shared freshness label (56/56), and the candidate VSIX shipslearning.svgbesidebook.svg(package checker exit 0). The view's rows, refresh triggers and stop flows are exercised by host tests and natively by N55, not by these probes.Native trial N55 (task 6)

Design Review (lite): one design specialist per pass — pass 1: no design finding recorded; pass 2: 4 informational skipped (icons, casing, welcome wording, Change location affordance; #132 task 31); pass 3: 1 fixed (the no-Git caveat now also in the tooltip).
